The Senior Forensic Analyst works as a member of the Global Brand Protection (GBP) Capabilities & Technology team. The role leads and advances our newly implemented forensic analysis capabilities by applying sophisticated technologies and methodologies to analyze both authentic and counterfeit products, assisting in development of actionable intelligence for the broader GBP organization and supporting product protection programs. As a global, cross-sector role the scope of the position includes pharmaceuticals and medical devices sold into all markets and all channels of trade. The team's mission is protecting patients from the risks of illicit trade worldwide, with specific focus on protecting patient safety, brand reputation and reclaiming / growing business value. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Brand Protection Technology. Key Responsibilities: The Senior Forensic Analyst coordinates activities within the Brand Protection lab that propel the development, execution and advancement of forensic analysis as a tool for addressing illicit trade. The key responsibilities include the following: + Creates and performs forensic analysis protocols on product samples applying available technologies and methodologies to identify, quantify and catalog the critical characteristics of authentic and counterfeit products. + Collaborates with the Product Security Investigations and Intelligence team to develop and issue analysis reports summarizing key findings and actionable intelligence to aid investigations and provide evidence for legal proceedings. + Uses current and historical data to produce strain analysis and clustering reports that measure counterfeiting trends over time and help to uncover global illicit manufacturing and supply networks. + Coordinates with global GBP team members and cross-functional groups such as Quality, to develop, implement and improve sample collection and management procedures upstream and downstream of the lab. + Coordinates across the GBP Capabilities and Technology team to maintain the infrastructure and systems vital to consistently ensure the timely analysis of product samples and adherence to chain of custody procedures. + Supports the Senior Manager, Brand Protection Technology to develop and evaluate innovative product protection solutions for implementation. + Develops training programs for the broader GBP team to expand knowledge of the lab and forensic analysis while also training and collaborating with contract lab resources on an as-needed basis. Qualifications Education: + A minimum of a bachelor’s Degree is required. A focus in forensics, life sciences, engineering, or related field is helpful. Experience and Skills: + Self-motivated individual seeking opportunity to develop groundbreaking analytical capabilities that will positively impact patient safety. + A minimum of four (4) years of experience in a lab environment. + Experience in performing forensic analysis to assist in investigations and legal proceedings is a plus. + Ability to prioritize, assimilate new technologies and translate sophisticated analytical concepts to partners. + Good analytical, problem solving and judgment skills. + Proficient with laboratory management systems, Microsoft Office programs, software applications for analysis, reporting, and presentations. + Knowledge of counterfeiting, diversion and tampering risks in the healthcare industry. + Experience working with external partners. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
