Ingredion is hiring a Senior Food Technologist, Dairy/Alt. Dairy Applications responsible to lead experimental design and execution in dairy applications for new-product development, customer support, and product support with hands on technical expertise. Your knowledge and our innovative ingredient solutions will drive success in the dairy foods area.

This role reports to the Manager, Dairy/Alt. Dairy - Global Applications

What you will do:

Help deliver the company strategy by developing new ingredients and solutions in the dairy and dairy alternative sectors.Manage projects by planning, designing, and conducting hands-on experiments & trials in the laboratory and pilot plant, and conducting data analysis to understand relationships between structure/function and application performance.Apply analytical methods to characterize the attributes of formulated food and beverage products and coordinate more extensive testing with Sensory, Analytical, and Texture teams when required.Develop internal capabilities, by researching new techniques and technologies, and providing sourcing, training and implementation.Co-create and innovate with customers by providing technical solutions to product development challenges and driving projects.Support Go-To- Market teams by providing product information and product application details such as formulation/processing support and ingredient trainingPrepare and deliver internal and external trainings, presentations and technical documentation to demonstrate and communicate product performance and Ingredion innovation capabilities.Provide support to teams across the globe in the dairy and dairy alternative areas for ingredient solutions and technical guidanceStay abreast of the technology environment (established and emerging technologies, market trends, IP landscape), conduct prior art searches (e.g., literature, patents), and work to proactively seek and pursue IP opportunities to protect Ingredion’s stake in new and promising ingredients & food applications.

What you will bring:

BS in Food Science, Engineering or a related field, with 3 to 4+ years of progressive experience in Dairy Technology or related field. Experience with hands-on dairy product development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment, dairy biochemistry, dairy unit operations highly preferred. Strong understanding of food safety Good Manufacturing Practices, specifically related to dairy products and processes.Ability to support and lead global projects independently and inform decisions at all levels.10-20% domestic travel required to attend trade shows, conferences, trainings, and client sites.Experience with experiment design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results.Experience in literature search and familiarity with peer-reviewed scientific journals desired.Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills e.g. delivering presentations and writing technical reports.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with cross-functional teams and work collaborativelyProficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, power-point, project)

Pay Range:

$81,680.00-$108,906.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
