Senior Financial & Planning Analyst

Based in [COSTA RICA] location as part of the Global Financial Planning team, you will support the financial and strategic planning of the Power & Water Solutions business unit. Primary responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of financial information and analysis to support quarterly, annual, and long-term planning packages and presentations; reviewing, consolidating and analyzing monthly world area financial results; and providing financial information and analysis to all levels of management in the business unit, Emerson Automation Solutions, and Emerson. The Senior Financial Analyst will interact closely with the rest of the Global Financial Planning team as well as the Director of Financial Planning and business unit CFO. We look forward to seeing your application! **In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Provide global analytical support for the monthly projection process to create a forecast for the remaining months of the year. + Lead and coordinate the process of updating the Emerson Financial Model. The model includes the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and multiple supporting exhibits that measure various financial ratios and metrics. The model is updated multiple times during the year for different purposes: + President's Council - update quarterly and measures the current operating year. + Profit Review - updated annually and forecasts a five-year operating plan + Budget Review - updated annually for the first draft of the operating plan for the new fiscal year + Financial Review - updated annually and compares historical data to the operating plan for the new fiscal year + Lead and coordinate the process of updating other Financial Models that include Strategy Review, Planning Conference, and OCE updates + Lead and coordinate the MD&A bridges and supporting exhibits + Develop presentations for senior management that provide line of sight into financial performance + Provide finance support for the New Product Development process + Gather data from the world areas to prepare multiple ad-hoc analysis. This analysis will include reviewing currency, mix, price, and cost reduction programs. + Prepare and update data requests sent from Corporate under tight deadlines + Develop and implement improvements to the current HFM reporting process **Who You Are:** You use financial analysis to generate, evaluate, and act on strategic options and opportunities, you readily action new challenges, without unnecessary planning and you build teamwork allowing others across the organization to achieve shared objectives. **For This Role, You Will Need:** + Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance + A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Accounting or Finance + Must have experience related to budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Experience dealing with World Areas in a Global environment is preferred. + Strong business system knowledge including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are required.
