Job Description

Our Senior Financial Analyst, Information Technology  role is key to the organization’s IT cost transparency initiatives, designed to position IT stakeholders with the knowledge to manage and communicate the cost, quality and value of IT services.

This experienced Financial Analyst will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the IT financial planning and analysis processes across the company. The role will also play a part in the overall IT governance processes as well as assist in the administrative oversight of overall budget planning and forecasting.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Regularly organize and analyze all IT spend, ensuring correct categorization and attribution of data 

Create operational and financial models, dashboards, management reports, and communication materials for IT and corporate executives and end users 

Lead data collection, transformation, and analysis for both forecasting and historical trend reporting; execute the collection of data from stakeholders in a timely manner 

Provide expertise to help manage and improve organizational IT cost transparency and IT planning 

Participate in collaborative efforts with domain leads, service lines, and programs / projects to drive improved communication and shared direction 

Work with program/project leaders and cost center owners to secure forecasts and review incurred expenses 

Support vendor selection, RFP cost and quality analysis, and ongoing vendor performance metrics 

Collect and maintain vendor contracts and other related artifacts; review to ensure standards, tracking termination / renewal dates and collaborating with contract owners on financial impacts 

Participate in establishing financial performance metrics, practices, templates, and policies to expand and mature these capabilities for the IT organization 

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a Financial Analyst role (technology or corporate) 

Strong knowledge of operational financial management processes and best practices such as: forecasts/budgeting, cost allocations, project capital and operating expense forecasting and reporting 

Strong financial acumen and data analytic skills 

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in providing financial reports and analysis  

Experience formulating conclusions and providing summary analysis and interpretation for leadership 

Basic understanding of information technology components, purchasing, and vendor selection 

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 

Initiative to identify opportunities and risks and think outside the box; ability to work independently 

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to all levels of the company 

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, particularly charts and graphs 

Ability to generate ad-hoc data extracts from various databases using Structured Query Language (SQL)  

Experience with one or more of the following tools/programs/languages: 

Microsoft Excel 

Strong understanding of SQL and Database Modeling

Scheduling/Query tools such as SQL Server Management Studio 

Ability to manage conflict in a matrixed environment to secure data needed for financial measurement activities from others at all levels of the organization 

Experience managing change, executing new processes, and successfully engaging colleagues and partners to achieve results 

Experience with IT cost management, planning and analysis tools (ServiceNow, JDE, SAP) preferred 

Advanced degree in a related field preferred 

ITIL or Service Management background preferred
