The Senior Financial Analyst oversees key accounting functions within a global, fast-paced organization, with a primary focus on fixed assets, revenue recognition, and the coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This role brings together strong technical accounting expertise, SAP and ERP knowledge, and robust internal control experience to support accurate and timely financial reporting. The position offers broad exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, and corporate accounting, while providing opportunities to lead and participate in process improvement and automation initiatives across multiple business areas.
Responsibilities
+ Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and ensure all internal control processes operate effectively and on schedule.
+ Serve as a key resource combining technical accounting expertise, SAP knowledge, and understanding of internal processes to meet evolving business needs.
+ Prepare detailed analyses and develop robust processes for recording and monitoring accounting transactions, including fixed assets, development costs, and revenue recognition.
+ Review and ensure the timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations and other key financial reconciliations on a day-to-day basis.
+ Oversee and support the fixed assets and revenue recognition programs, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and relevant standards.
+ Review key monthly deliverables provided to Global Accounting and SEC Reporting teams, including prepared-by-client (PBC) schedules and business reports.
+ Act as a primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, coordinating audit requests and supporting work related to SOX and accounting audits.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization on several high-impact projects, contributing financial insight and process expertise.
+ Identify issues and develop practical, data-driven solutions to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control within accounting operations.
+ Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives across areas such as IT, technical accounting, and SOX-related activities.
+ Manage routine responsibilities during month-end while balancing project-based work outside of close periods.
+ Work proactively and independently to learn new processes and procedures quickly and to maintain high-quality deliverables under tight timelines.
+ Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across finance, accounting, and other business functions.
Essential Skills
+ Professional accounting designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent international CA/CPA, or relevant experience toward such designation.
+ Strong background in financial analysis, accounting, and finance with hands-on experience in financial reporting and reconciliations.
+ Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes and internal controls within a complex organization.
+ Solid understanding of revenue recognition principles and fixed asset accounting.
+ Experience working with SOX-related controls, documentation, and audit support.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP (or HLOOKUP) and Pivot Tables.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and familiarity with large, complex data structures.
+ Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial information to various stakeholders.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams.
+ Ability to learn new processes and procedures quickly in a dynamic, high-paced environment.
+ Self-starter mindset with the ability to work proactively and independently while managing multiple priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a Big 4 public accounting firm or similar environment.
+ Experience with SAP and reporting tools such as OneStream and Power BI.
+ Exposure to or experience with fixed asset programs and SOX compliance projects.
+ Interest in and aptitude for process improvement and automation techniques across finance and accounting functions.
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word in addition to Excel.
+ Experience working with large-scale, global operations and complex business challenges is an asset.
Work Environment
The Senior Financial Analyst works on-site in a corporate office environment in Toronto, Ontario, on a standard schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., totaling approximately 40 hours per week. The role is based in the Record to Report Tower within a Global Business Services structure and involves close collaboration with a highly talented finance and accounting team, including specialized groups such as the lease team. The position is fully in-office (no work-from-home arrangement) and operates in a dynamic, high-paced setting where performance, accountability, and execution are highly valued. Overtime is required at peak times, particularly around year-end and during the last week of December, which is designated as a vacation blackout period. The environment offers exposure to global operations and iconic consumer brands, providing complex and engaging business challenges. The team uses SAP and other ERP systems, as well as reporting tools like OneStream and Power BI, and works extensively with large and complex data structures. The dress code is business casual, reflecting a professional yet approachable workplace culture that encourages initiative, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
