Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will support and drive data analysis for hospitality operations, delivering actionable insights on hotel performance, food and beverage operations, and guest satisfaction metrics. This role combines advanced financial analysis, business intelligence, and forecasting to inform strategic decisions and improve operational results. The analyst will work closely with both corporate and property-level leadership to translate complex data into clear, practical strategies that enhance performance across the hospitality portfolio.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of hotel operational data, including key metrics for room operations, food and beverage performance, and guest satisfaction.Prepare recurring financial and operational performance reports and dashboards for Senior leadership, presenting findings in a clear and actionable format.Maintain and enhance business intelligence tools and automated hospitality performance dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.Ensure accurate data collection, reconciliation, and integrity across all reporting systems and data sources.Perform detailed forecasting and scenario modeling, analyzing trends and variances to support strategic planning and performance management.Play a key role in the annual budgeting process by coordinating with hotel teams to gather inputs and reviewing projected revenues and expenses.Provide timely ad hoc financial analysis and data insights in response to leadership inquiries and cross-functional initiatives.Support evaluation of new development projects and potential acquisitions in the hospitality portfolio through rigorous financial modeling and due diligence.Partner with hotel operations and performance management teams to analyze vendor proposals, compare bids, and support contract award decisions and cost optimization efforts.Develop, maintain, and continuously improve hospitality performance scorecards and KPI tracking tools, ensuring key metrics are accurately measured and aligned with organizational goals.Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate analytical findings into practical recommendations that improve operational efficiency and financial performance.Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.2+ years of experience in financial analysis or a closely related role.Strong background in financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting.Hands-on experience with forecasting, variance analysis, and reconciliation.Proficiency in financial modeling and FP&A (financial planning and analysis).Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.Ability to interpret complex financial and operational data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.Ability to work both collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently to drive projects to completion.Effective written and verbal communication skills for presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Hospitality industry experience, such as hotels or restaurants, is strongly preferred.Familiarity with business intelligence software such as Tableau, Power BI, Cognos, or similar tools is a plus.Experience with hospitality or hotel management systems such as Opera, OnQ, or similar platforms is a plus.Experience supporting capital projects or acquisitions through financial modeling and due diligence is beneficial.Comfort working in a performance-driven environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position based in a corporate office in Bethesda, working in a cubicle-style layout. The role operates in a professional office environment with regular collaboration across corporate and property-level teams. The position relies heavily on computer-based work, including extensive use of Excel, business intelligence tools, and hospitality systems.
