The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in financial planning and analysis within a manufacturing environment, providing accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and clear explanations of business performance to corporate leadership. This role requires strong financial accounting and GAAP knowledge, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. The successful candidate will partner closely with stakeholders across the business, lead efforts to understand cost and margin drivers, and support a fast-paced month-end close process.
Responsibilities
+ Perform comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions in a manufacturing environment.
+ Lead and support FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance tracking.
+ Analyze high-mix, low-volume manufacturing cost structures and margins to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
+ Investigate and determine the root causes of forecast variances and low margins, and clearly explain findings to corporate leadership.
+ Prepare and deliver monthly presentations to corporate, providing clear, concise explanations of financial results and key drivers.
+ Support a three-day month-end close process by ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and reconciliations.
+ Extract, clean, and analyze data from ERP systems to support reporting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.
+ Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights and recommendations for management.
+ Develop and maintain advanced Excel models, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and other analytical tools.
+ Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested by corporate and local leadership.
+ Collaborate with accounting, HR, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to resolve issues and improve processes.
+ Build strong working relationships across the organization and independently resolve financial and analytical issues.
+ Maintain a high level of attention to detail while managing multiple projects and delivering accurate results on time.
+ Apply strong knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP to ensure compliance and integrity of financial information.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a manufacturing business environment and within a public company.
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
+ 2–5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
+ Strong knowledge of financial accounting and GAAP.
+ Cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
+ Demonstrated FP&A analytical capabilities, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
+ Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs.
+ Experience with ERP systems, including data extraction, clean-up, and analysis.
+ Proven track record of translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present monthly results and explanations to corporate leadership.
+ Demonstrated leadership abilities and a constructive curiosity to drive change and process improvement.
+ Ability to build strong relationships and resolve issues independently.
+ Detail-oriented mindset with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver timely, accurate results.
+ Experience working in a company with at least $50M in revenue.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CMA, CPA, or MBA preferred.
+ Experience with Sage 100 or Syspro; open to candidates with experience in other ERP systems.
+ High-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment experience.
+ Experience supporting a three-day month-end close process.
+ Strong skills in ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.
+ Comfort working with and presenting to corporate stakeholders on a regular basis.
+ Experience working with or supporting space and defense-related customers is beneficial.
+ Proactive, curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
Work Environment
The role is based in a cubicle-style back-office setting, working alongside HR and engineering team members in a collaborative environment. You will be part of a tight-knit accounting and finance team that currently includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, and an accounting manager, supporting both domestic and international locations. The broader team size is approximately five people, not including this position, which offers close interaction and strong cross-functional partnerships. The standard work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a business casual dress code. The company operates in a stable industry and partners with leading space and defense organizations, providing exposure to complex, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations and modern ERP-based financial systems.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
5%-10% bonus 401k Health/ Vision and Dental
