What this job involves:
JLL is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support a newly secured oil and gas client account in Calgary, where we have been awarded comprehensive integrated facility management (IFM) services.
We are looking for a finance professional whose technical expertise, combined with a solid understanding of integrated facility management operations, will be instrumental in establishing robust financial reporting frameworks and positioning our IFM team for long-term success.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining annual budgets and quarterly forecasting activities, as well as developing revenue and expense analyses and other business analyses. The Finance team's reporting capabilities are essential in providing senior management with critical information for business planning and strategic decision-making.
This position may require regular on-site presence at our client's downtown Calgary office, so candidates must be located within commuting distance of downtown Calgary.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Reporting
Support and implement “Best in Class” reporting.
Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting including informal and formal internal and documents, reports, graphs, charts and presentations.
Develop efficient reporting strategies including automation and simplification of reporting processes while preserving data integrity.
Support cost-savings and process improvement initiatives
Participate in the development and distribution of best practices, process documentation, and user support materials for reporting.
Responsible for the compilation and analysis of financial and operational data required for quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.
Analysis
Identify tactical and strategic opportunities, gaps and financial risks through collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Develop trend, benchmarking, operational analyses and dashboard metrics
Budgeting/Forecasting
Lead the strategic planning, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting activities
Detailed forecast analysis including Budget versus Actual and Forecast versus Actual
Actively research and identify budget corrections and collaborate with operations to implement change
Forecast accuracy reporting
Other
Assist calculation, timely billing and recognition of revenue/fees in accordance with the Master Service Agreement, and liaise with corporate finance teams to maintain accuracy of corporate P&L
Participate in ensuring internal reporting compliance with company policies and procedures (i.e. SOX, SSAE16, ASC606, etc)
Special projects and other functions as required by manager
Collaborate with team to share and improve technical skills
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
5+ years relevant experience in accounting and finance
Proficiency in ERP accounting applications required
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Strong MS Access and database skills
Prior use of systems and tools used to extract and analyze data
Preferred Qualifications:
Oil and Energy Industry knowledge is an asset
Experience in PeopleSoft, SQL, JDEdwards World or JDEdwards EnterpriseOne is an asset
Experience in Real Estate/Property Management services a plus
Process Management experience or demonstrated skills, comfort level and/or strong interest in Six Sigma preferred
