Senior Financial Analyst

Our 114,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries. **The Opportunity** This position works out of our **Abbott Park, IL** campus and is responsible for supporting and leading the quarterly LBE/Planning process for Specified charges, Capital Authorizations and Expenditure as well as other areas of responsibilities within the **Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis** team. This position also includes review and analysis of corporate-level capital projects. **POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:** Lead and coordinate all aspects of the **Capital financial planning** process including quarterly rLBEs, Confirmations, Annual Plan, and OEM deliverables. Consolidation, review, and analysis of Abbott’s Total **Specified** charges (Plan, LBEs, Confirms and Guidance Passes) , including coordination with Corporate Tax for the most current ETR (Effective Tax Rate) analysis Execute Month-end reporting for Specified and Capital spending. Prepare consolidation of Abbott’s **Capital Authorization and Expenditure** with a focus on financial analytics to identify and explain trends and to provide business insights. Review and analysis of Abbott’s **Capitalized Interest** for Plan and LBE cycles. Bi-annually support the coordination and consolidation of Abbott’s **2030 Sustainability** projects spend. Review and analysis of **corporate-level acquisitions and divestitures** . Facilitate the approval and review process. Review and analysis of corporate level **Request for Capital Expenditures (RCE),** including facilitating the review process through final approval. Work with the divisions to prepare high quality capital proposals. Ensure compliance with Abbott’s Corporate Financial Manual (CFM) policies. Point person for CFP&A on the bi-monthly **Capital Council** meetings, providing insights to Divisions on RCE best practices as well as leading the Q&A sessions. Provides financial expertise and **fosters continuous improvement** in optimizing planning activities. Assists the team in achieving the **process improvements** for Abbott-wide initiatives and responsible for critical projects delegated by the Divisional Vice President that will reside within the Supervisor’s area of responsibility. Various Ad hoc financial analysis and preparation of presentations for senior management (including but not limited to Investor Relations and Board of Director slides). **PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS/ATTRIBUTES:** Attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments, achieving required deadlines. Ability to anticipate and organize workload accordingly. Effective communication and problem-solving skills with all levels of management and organizations. Strong analytical skills. Ability to work with complex Excel models. Experience with HFM and Essbase. Demonstrate ability of collaborating and partnering with business colleagues at various levels in a polished and tactful manner. Ability to operate independently and adaptable to changing requirements. Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and well versed in creating financial visuals including charts. Power BI and /or ThinkCell experience a plus. Will to win: Motivated, proactive and driven individual that will look to deliver on time, with high quality. Develop implementation plans which support adherence to best practices. **EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:** CPA, CMA or MBA preferred. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 6 years accounting and financial planning experience. Advanced proficiency with financial systems and tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SAP, Hyperion, Power BI) No travel required. The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00.
