We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Field Specialist to support field operations in the Carlsbad, NM area. This role is ideal for candidates with over 10 years of hands-on experience as a Lease Operator, Production Technician, or SWD Operator, who bring strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to resolve complex field issues independently.
This is a senior-level, non-supervisory position focused on daily production support, equipment troubleshooting, and field optimization. The ideal candidate has a strong safety mindset and the ability to operate autonomously in remote field environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and advanced inspections, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, tanks, valves)
Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment and production issues with minimal supervision
Monitor wells and facilities to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations
Assist with the startup and shutdown of wells and support new equipment commissioning
Identify and escalate critical equipment failures or environmental concerns
Record and report production data, maintenance activities, and operational changes
Operate safely in accordance with HSE standards and company procedures
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams as needed
Participate in safety meetings, audits, and emergency response drills
Basic / Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED
10+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations as a Lease Operator, Production Technician, or SWD Operator
Strong mechanical knowledge of production equipment and field systems
Valid driver’s license with ability to operate vehicles in remote and off-road environments
Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
Preferred QualificationsExperience with tank batteries, artificial lift systems, and automated production equipment
Familiarity with field data collection and reporting tools
Safety certifications such as H2S, PEC, or First Aid/CPR
Previous work experience in the Permian Basin or similar field environments
Strong understanding of operational safety practices and environmental regulations
