Job Description:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) has a requirement for technical and engineering support in the systems engineering, integration, maintenance, documentation, and development and operation of training simulations. SimIS seeks a Senior Field Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership and engineering support for shore-based training (SBT) simulator and simulation systems at SCSTC. This position requires expertise in complex military simulation systems, configuration management, and engineering analysis to ensure optimal performance of training environments. The Senior Field Engineer serves as the primary technical authority for system integration, upgrades, and troubleshooting of advanced naval combat systems simulators.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fieldMinimum 8-10 years of experience in military simulation systems, preferably AEGIS or naval combat systemsAdvanced knowledge of DIS/HLA simulation standards and protocolsExperience with system integration and configuration managementTravel Required: 25%
