Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Senior Field Applications Engineer, where you'll provide technical expertise to semiconductor and life sciences companies. Working at the intersection of product development, customer success, and technology innovation, you'll enable customers to integrate our advanced microscopy and analytical solutions into their workflows. You'll develop and implement applications, provide training, and ensure customers maximize the value of our technology while solving complex technical challenges.

Day in the Life

Provide advanced technical expertise to semiconductor and life sciences customers using electron microscopy and analytical solutionsDevelop, implement, and optimize applications to support customer workflowsServe as a trusted technical advisor, building strong customer relationshipsSupport new product introductions and evolving customer technologiesDeliver customer training on complex instrumentation and applicationsCollaborate with product development and commercial teams to drive customer successTroubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver effective solutionsSupport data analysis, process optimization, and workflow development
 

Keys to Success

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline with 8+ years of experience with electron microscopy techniques (SEM, FIB/SEM, TEM) and related workflows OR Advanced Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience

Experience

Expert understanding of semiconductor processing, device physics, and failure analysis techniquesDemonstrated success in developing and implementing technical solutionsExperience training and mentoring users on complex instrumentationExperience with automation, scripting, or programming (Python, C#, MATLAB) preferredExperience with data analysis, process optimization, and workflow developmentFamiliarity with laboratory operations and quality control proceduresProficiency with relevant software platforms and data management systemsAbility to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutionsWillingness and ability to travel up to 40%
