Job Title: Technical Field Application Engineer

Duration: Initial 1 year contract, long term extensions expected

Workload: Full-time hours

Setup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)

Location: Frankfurt, Germany

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Field Application Engineer to lead testing, provide technical support, and drive customer engagement for cutting-edge wireless broadband solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Lead testing activities: lab setup, internal testing, field validation, certification, and troubleshooting. Act as the technical point of contact for pre-sales and post-sales support. Deliver product demos, training sessions, and technical guidance. Translate customer requirements into tailored technical solutions. Collaborate with engineering, QA, and software teams to improve product design. Document test results and contribute to RFIs/RFPs. Possible occasional trips across UK, Europe, and Taiwan.

 

Must-Have Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in IT/engineering (Master’s preferred). 5+ years in technical FAE or technical account management roles. Strong expertise in WiFi standards, testing, and certification. Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills. English and German at B2 level.

 

Nice-to-Have:

Knowledge of 4G/5G cellular technologies and network topology. Familiarity with open-source platforms (RDK-B, OpenWRT, Prpl). IoT protocols (ZigBee, Thread, Matter). Programming experience in C/C++, Python, JavaScript. Additional EU languages and Mandarin are nice to have.
