Senior Facility Operations and Maintenance Specialist

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an O&M Specialist to join their team on a 1-year contract in Edmonton, AB.
This person will support hydrocarbon processing and transportation facility staff with project design input, construction interface, shut-down planning, commissioning and start-up (CSU), and hand-over, while providing leadership, guidance, and expertise. Reporting to the Project Liaison Coordinator, this role will support all stages of projects, including design input, construction, CSU, and close-out.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
Mentor and support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Liaisons on assigned facility projects within the Liquids Infrastructure (LI) business. Work closely with leadership to continuously improve Operations & Maintenance (O&M) interfaces and deliverables. Foster strong communication with Project Management Teams, Construction Management Teams, and O&M stakeholder groups through every project stage. Assist in the development and updates of O&M deliverable schedules, working with O&M Liaisons, project managers and technical specialists. Optimize and enhance the O&M deliverable development process. Highlight opportunities to standardize designs and design input. Present engineering specification development improvements to the Technical Services group. Continuously focus on the most up-to-date thinking/practices/research in the development of a Continuous Improvement model. Champion a safe workplace through process improvements, standard practices, clear communication, thorough work planning, and building strong employee personal accountability. Build and champion a culture that continually improves overall deliverable quality. Collaboratively work with the leaders of the Liquid Infrastructure and the company to develop and implement “Best in Class” process and systems. Support and model an environment of self- development to provide organizational strength and individual growth within the organization. Support adherence to all company policies, rules, and guidelines. Lead the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for Operations and Maintenance within assigned projects. Support development of OPEX estimates and CSU estimates as a project deliverable. Instill pride in work at the facility and maintain high housekeeping standards.QUALIFICATIONS:
15+ years of Operations, Maintenance, and Project execution experience, including 10+ years in a leadership role. Have a strong understanding of project systems and processes, engineering, and construction principles. Conversant in a variety of operating and maintenance philosophies and able to recommend operating and maintenance methodologies that best fit various facility designs. Conversant in key performance indicators and can lead the development of effective Turnover and CSU programs. Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach multi-discipline teams in a professional setting. Encourages and incorporates diverse and creative initiatives and perspectives; has sound judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a professional and courteous attitude with the ability to facilitate a team to defined outcomes in a timely manner.
