We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Cyberjaya, Malaysia.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Expert, Legal Operations & Innovation Asia-Pacific plays a key role in delivering legal services effectively and supporting the Group Strategy 2030. The position focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing legal service delivery at the regional level through technology and collaboration with the Global Legal Operations & Innovation team. This role oversees regional legal support, leads innovation and transformation initiatives, and manages projects and programs to ensure successful outcomes.
Your tasks:
Legal professional support at Regional level (cross -country; cross-business units)
Manage legal support requests with cross-country, cross-BU, or AP relevance. Allocate to appropriate counsel, ensuring timely and quality legal output. Represent the Region in legal working groups and strategic projects beyond country/BU scope. Coordinate Regional legal resources where applicable, ensuring alignment, accountability and high performance. Provide legal support to Corporate Functions and Regional Service Line Functions. Build trusted relationships across business units, cross-functional teams, and SD71 peers. Foster collaboration, transparency and support across Legal AP and beyond.Legal Operation (Communication, Digitalization, Data Management)
Coordinate legal operations across Legal AP, including:
Legal digitalization and automation, Data management and reporting, Internal and external legal communications (newsletters, Regional legal community building, knowledge sharing), Integration of AI and legal analytics to improve efficiency, quality, and insight generation.Performance Monitoring and KPIs:
Define and track KPIs to measure transformation progress, Provide data-driven insights to support continuous improvement and informed legal decision-making.Best Practices and Training:
Develop and promote standards, templates, and tools. Deliver training and mentoring (e.g. First Choice methodology), foster a mindset of learning and improvement in the team.Transformation and Innovation (Regional Projects lead, Global Strategy execution)
Lead the execution of the Legal Transformation Strategy in the Region, aligned with Global Legal strategy and Group policies. Drive major regional programs and projects with clear direction and measurable impact. Operational Excellence and Efficiency Identify and fix inefficiencies and bottlenecks in regional legal processes. Direct and manage the legal transformation program and project portfolio in the Region. Synchronize regional efforts with Global Legal Operations & Innovation team decisions. Monitor interdependencies and report consolidated status to the Legal Management Board (LMB), whether directly or via the Regional General Counsel. Promote and actively support talents, enabling them to contribute meaningfully and develop their leadership presence in cross-regional and cross-functional group work.Your profile:
Education Level:
Computer Science or Business Degree. In addition, a Law Degree would be a plus, though not essential. Project management qualification (e.g. First Choice/Six Sigma methodology)Experience Level:
At least five years in managing cross-Country digitalization/Legal Tech projects of major MNC In-House Legal teams.We offer:
