About this Role

At Brink Constructors, Inc., the Senior Transmission Estimator is responsible for leading comprehensive estimates for high-voltage overhead transmission projects (69kV–500kV), covering structures, foundations, conductor/OPGW, access/ROW, outages, environmental/restoration, and subcontracted scopes while mentoring junior estimators.

 

Pay: This is an exempt/salary position. The pay range is $100,000 - $130,000. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.

 

Location/Travel: This position is based out of Brink's Rapid City, SD office. Up to 20% travel required. 

What You'll Do Lead project pursuits, mentor junior estimators, and ensure accurate deliverables by team membersDetailed Quantity Take-offs, unit Pricing and Crew build-upsGeo-Tech and Access modelingVendor/subcontractor quote levelingRisk AssessmentProposal narratives and clarificationsBasis of estimate presentation to Director, VP, President, etc.Familiarize with bid documents and prepare staking sheets and budgetsConduct visits to job sites as neededCommunicate project status and assignments to the teamEstablish and maintain relationships with customersCollect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future productsConsult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issuesConfer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates What You'll Bring

Required:

8-12+ years in T&D estimating and/or professionExperience mentoring junior estimators and leading multi-disciplinary teamsValid, Active Driver's License

Preferred: 

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or engineeringSoftware: Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, ExcelEstimating Software: HCSS/HeavyBid, B2W, InEightTechnical: NESCand OSHA 1926 Subpart V interpretation, PLS-CADD, GISCertifications: OSHA‑30; PMP/CPE/PE/EITStrong technical writingEstimating mastery, financial acumen, collaboration across engineering/PM/procurement/fieldExcellent communication skills for client, team, and executive interactions.Good understanding of blueprints and drawings and strong plan & profile interpretationStrong knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheetsSelf-starter and motivated to complete assigned taskMathematics — Using mathematics to solve problemsCritical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsJudgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one What You'll Get
