Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Estimator with proven expertise in site development, cost analysis, and bid coordination. The ideal candidate will be skilled in performing accurate take-offs, developing competitive estimates, and presenting value-driven solutions to both clients and internal teams. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in industry software, and the ability to collaborate across departments to deliver precise and timely project proposals.
ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment.Apply accurate unit pricing to determine total project costs.Conduct site visits to assess project scope and conditions.Review construction plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy.Analyze external factors that may impact cost and efficiency.Provide value engineering options to optimize project budgets.Develop subcontractor bid lists tailored to the Central NC market.Prepare and submit complete bid packages, including scope and clarifications.Coordinate the total estimating effort for assigned bids or negotiated projects.Review and procure bonds and insurance pricing as required.Attend client meetings related to project costs and bid presentations.Convey estimate details, including risks and opportunities, to project teams.Work closely with internal project teams and external client representatives.Assist in planning project sequencing, crew sizing, and productivity factors.Present estimate findings clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers.Attend trade shows to build relationships with new subcontractors and suppliers.Continuously scan the market for new opportunities, vendors, and innovations.Track actual field productivity to refine and improve estimating accuracy.Essential SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Skilled in estimating software such as PlanSwift, Agtek, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.Strong Excel skills, including the use of formulas and data analysis.Ability to perform take-offs both digitally and manually.Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimate preparation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent technical training and experience considered.Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction site estimating.In-depth knowledge of site development procedures, sequencing, and local building codes.Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents.Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools for earthwork analysis is a plus.Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain composure under pressure.Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Raleigh, NC. The work environment involves collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

This is a Contract-to-hire position based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
