Join us. **Job Description** **Job Description:** The Remediation team in Kitchener, Markham, or Mississauga is seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist for a new position to serve as a technical resource for federally and/or provincially regulated projects in Ontario. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead diverse projects, including contaminated site assessment/remediation, regulatory closure pursuits, and excess soil management. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, senior technical leads, and other AECOM business lines to achieve project success and deliver on AECOM’s promise to our client. **Key Responsibilities:** + Undertake or provide technical direction and mentoring for contaminated site assessment, excess soil, risk-based closure including the development of site-specific guidelines through pathway elimination or risk assessments in accordance with federal or provincial guidelines. + Technical writing and/or report review (e.g., risk management plans, remedial action plans, assessment of past uses (APUs), site characterization, groundwater sampling, Phase I/II ESAs) + Development of work scopes and proposals. + Act as a technical lead on excess soil projects for other AECOM business lines. + Collaboration with a variety of technical experts including hydrogeologists, risk assessors, and senior technical leads to advance contaminated sites to regulatory closure. + Ability to mentor junior and intermediate professionals. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related fields. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex technical tasks and mentor others. + Strong leadership, project management, and client communication skills. + Knowledge of current federal and provincial legislation (e.g., Canadian Energy Regulator (CER), CCME, O. Reg. 153/04 and 406/19) and risk assessment guidance. + Experience working with Oil & Gas clients or with the CER on mid-stream remediation or closure projects would be considered an asset. + Membership in a relevant professional organization such as APGO or PEO. **Additional Information** Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
