Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Engineering Manager to lead product development, technical compliance, and engineering excellence within our Offsite Europe business. This role will oversee product innovation, testing, and engineering in our software, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and building regulations.

As a key technical leader, the Engineering Manager will work closely with suppliers, industry bodies, and accreditation organisations to ensure our products remain fit for purpose, fully accredited, and competitive in the market. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring both technical depth and leadership skills to support the growth of Offsite Europe.

Primary responsibilities:

Lead a team of engineers that can support deliver the engineering requirements of the Offsite Europe business, driving a safety and innovation culture that demonstrates excellence.Lead the innovation in our Cullen range of products, either through supporting our Customer-Back Innovation or through our product line simplification efforts and create tooling designs to support manufacturing.Lead and execute product testing programs to validate performance and quality of new products.Collaborate with industry suppliers to ensure product compatibility (e.g., i-joist systems).Execute an on-going review process to ensure performance, range availability, and competitiveness of products.Ensure ongoing compliance with current and upcoming building codes for all Offsite Europe products.Creation and sign off on declaration of performance documents.Ensuring accurate and up-to-date engineering calculations are within our software product offering.Evaluate, and act where necessary, current engineering within the software to ensure quality, performance and competitive advantage ensuring customers receive the best products for their needs.Own and manage product accreditations and approvals required for NHBC and other bodies.Represent Offsite Europe interests in industry associations and accreditation bodies.Lead and participate in quality audits to ensure success, create and implement actions plans where necessary.Act as the escalation point for advanced customer technical queries.Provide remedial support and solutions where necessary.Sign off on special welded products where necessary.Deliver internal and external technical training.Lead or support on producing accurate technical documentation, test reports, and customer communications.Ensure technical information and customer materials are always up to date and compliant.Demonstrate ITW Values of integrity, respect, trust, simplicity and shared risk.Identify skills gaps and create development plans to ensure the team meets both current and future business needs, including ITW Leadership Expectations as part of the journey.

Competencies

Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) highly desirable.Minimum 10 years’ experience in a construction and/or manufacturing field, with people management experience during this time.Strong knowledge of structural connectors, timber engineering, and building codes (UK & EU).Proven experience with product testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.Skilled in engineering calculations and design software.Excellent communication skills.Proven experience working and leading cross-functional teams to deliver customer and growth focused results.Strong technical writing ability for documentation and reports.
