Senior Engineer - Purchase
**Job Summary:** Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? Emerson is seeking a highly motivated Senior Purchase Engineer to join the team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. As a Purchase Professional, you will exhibit a strong work ethic and demonstrate exceptional proficiency in ensuring detailed and efficient procurement processes, enabling us to challenge in the global market. **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** + Research and identify suitable suppliers to meet the part specification needs. + Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery reliability. + Compare quotes from multiple suppliers to ensure pricing and negotiate at each stage like Item activation and project base order before fixing the sourcing rule. + Collaborate with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements. + Forecast demand for goods to fix effective procurement plans. + Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications. + Ensure compliance with company quality policies, legal regulations, and industry standards. + Procurement of stores through Indigenous and foreign sources as required in accordance with the rules in force. + Checking of requisitions/purchase indents. + Selection of suppliers for issue of enquiries. + Issuing enquiries/tenders and obtaining quotations. + Analyzing quotations and bids etc, and preparation of comparative statement + Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order-to-order materials, goods and supplies. + Review Excess inventories and order as required. + Interact with the suppliers on a day-to-day basis and Review deliveries against the orders. + Track the status of all open orders and Follow-up of purchase orders for delivery in due time. + Verification and passing of suppliers’ bills to see that payments are made promptly. + Ensuring all invoices are sent to accounts for payment process after good receipt. + Resolve issues such as delays, defective products, or incorrect shipments. + Maintenance of purchase records and vendor performance records/data. + Ensure accuracy and timely Attribute study and setting in Oracle system. + Effective co-ordination with Global Supply Chain (GSC) team across the world and align to their vendor management policies and consistent vendor performance. + Align materials as per Oracle Demand date, synchronized receipt of materials & in turn support in meeting customer delivery dates. + To review and set purchase policies on requirements of material from time to time and develop and maintain good buyer-seller (Vendor) relationship. + Loading the foundry based on the RCCP tonnage allocated to each foundry as per GSC Guidelines. + Analysis on Loading pattern based on Supplier performance of each vendor and surge loading of vendor based upon the project order flow in previous month. + Submitting all transporter bills on time to Payable team and Tracking all transport payment, the NSDJ progress which is created to stock transfer of D-excess parts. + Maintaining all Purchase metrics data - OTD, PPM and spent analysis report. + Identifying the D-excess parts and allocating them to the current demand with approval from QC.
