Brief description of roles and responsibilities
This is a senior technical role based in our Abu Dhabi office which will contribute to the delivery of pipeline integrity projects via:
Providing discipline expertise. Definition and approval of technical scopes. Executing assigned scopes of work. Contributing to business growth.The key high-level aspects of the role are as follows:
Leads pipeline integrity engineering work scopes and consultancy services as directed by immediate supervisor. Serves as the primary discipline Lead engineer on projects. Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produces engineering deliverables including complex problems, with minimal guidance and direction. Contributes to business development through regular engagement, relationship building and delivery to clients, as well as seeking opportunities to expand scope of work for Wood. May supervise a small work group consisting of technical/professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialisation to others. Manage one or more small projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources allocation and risk. Provide appropriate HSSE leadership including compliance with site and office safety requirements and technical/design safety requirements.The role should demonstrate proficiency in the following specialist areas:
Pipeline Integrity Management, including pipeline integrity assessment, pipeline life extension, remaining life assessment, pipeline repairs and remediation, fracture mechanics, pipeline risk-based inspection. Pipeline Fitness-For-Service (FFS), including FFS Lv.1, RSTRENG Assessment (Lv.2), Crack Assessment (Lv.1 and Lv.2), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for Complex Dent Assessment (Lv.3), FEA for Crack Assessment (Lv.3), FEA for Pipeline Buckling or out of straightness and Movement Assessment (Lv.3). Free Span and Combined Loading Assessment (Lv.2). Flexibles Pipeline Integrity Assessment. Working knowledge of the Pipeline Defect Assessment Manual (PDAM). Experience with subsea pipelines and offshore environments including design, integrity management, and operational aspects, is considered an advantage. Experience in non-metallic pipeline integrity management is desirable. Specialized Technical Knowledge – hands-on knowledge and experience in: Pipe-soil interface stiffness calculations, Pipeline walking mechanisms, Out-of-straightness survey interpretation, In-Line Inspection data sanity checks and validation, Ability to interpret and infer insights from ILI reports.
