Senior Engineer- Mechanical
Eaton Corporation
**What you’ll do:**
We are looking forward for senior engineer to lead mechanical design activities for DC chargers and battery energy storage systems. The senior engineer will be responsible for supporting NPI, sustaining, cost‑out and NTI projects. He should contribute to end‑to‑end product development from requirements definition through Validation. He will have to work closely with cross‑functional and Europe‑based teams to deliver project objectives.
"We are seeking a motivated individual to support electro‑mechanical design activities for DC chargers and battery energy storage systems. The role emphasizes enclosure design, thermal management, component selection, and design verification, with efficient execution of plastic molding and sheet‑metal designs. The incumbent will contribute through cross‑functional collaboration, documentation, and technical support, while continuously learning new tools and processes and supporting lead engineers in meeting project milestones.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and development activities for DC fast chargers and battery energy storage systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, cost targets, regulatory compliance standards, and market expectations.
Contribute to part and product design with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), leveraging hands‑on expertise in plastic injection molding, sheet‑metal design, and tooling concepts.
Develop and execute test plans for temperature rise, ingress protection (IP), vibration, and dielectric testing in accordance with applicable IEC and UL standards. Define test object requirements, assembly plans, test parameters, and instrumentation setups.
Perform system‑ and component‑level sizing, simulations, testing, and validation activities, supporting the product lifecycle from concept through industrialization.
Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, applying GD&T best practices, and manage engineering data using SAP and ENOVIA PLM systems to ensure configuration control and documentation accuracy.
