Senior Engineer - Electrolyzer Systems Mechanical

Do you enjoy working with cutting-edge technology can impact the world?

Would you like to design power solutions for green hydrogen production, compression, and utilization within energy & industrial market?

Join our Climate Technology Solutions Engineering team!

At Baker Hughes our purpose is clear. We take energy forward making it safer, cleaner, and more efficient for people and the planet. Our Climate Technology Solutions team focuses on bringing innovative clean technology to the energy and industrial space to accelerate our energy transition journey.

Take ownership for next generation of our energy technology

You will participate to the whole process of product definition, from conceptual design to development and testing phase of new equipment for energy transition applications.
The main development areas will be related with the design and optimization of mechanical components, assemblies and the overall mechanical integration of balance of plant (BoP) required by electrochemical cells and stacks components to power solutions for green hydrogen production, compression and utilization within energy & industrial market

As a Electrolyzer Systems Mechanical Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Leading the mechanical design calculation and validation of Balance of plant (BoP) for electrolyzer or electrochemical gas compression systems using cells and stacks; development and integration of components and systems like cooling device, structures, fluid collector, power distribution etc.

Overseeing mechanical and structural simulations of BoP equipment using multipurpose computational codes and 3D layout modeling.

Analyzing systems design features, including steady state, transient and off-design behaviors, ensuring fulfilment of all requirements and system operability, by computational simulations and any applicable validation and verification methods

Being accountable of technical documentation: creating, reviewing, and approving of mechanical engineering deliverables such as the overall stress analysis, handling and transportation, material characterization and structural resistance, including relevant data sheets and components specifications, taking care accessibility and serviceability of the overall system.

Ensuring full compliance systems components design to project/program requirements (including safety and regulatory input)

Selecting systems components, define specification, supporting market research including component and vendor qualification; driving and influencing the configuration adoption

Addressing manufacturability, operability and maintainability requirement of the systems considering modularized and standardized approach.

Participating in main project milestone meetings during development phases and with Customers

Contributing to the development of engineering standards, design tools, templates and processes.

Communicating project/program progresses and accomplishments to management

Complying with quality and time schedule targets (both for internal and external Customer).

Ensuring compliance to BH policies and values, IP preservation and HSE culture.
