Hybrid: This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week.
As a Design-To-Order Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our new team dedicated to high-tech vertical growth markets. The Design to Order (DTO) team is dedicated to transforming high-tech customer requests into reality. Our primary focus is to provide unique, customized solutions tailored to individual customer needs, rather than commercializing these options for the broader market. The ideal candidate will be able to act as an engineering design/project leader or function as an electrical design engineer. You will be responsible for leading and managing projects that are essential to our mission of winning in the AI and Data Center sectors. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering team and contribute to the growth and success of our organization! The selected individual needs to be able to succeed in a role where the requirements and direction can change often while we work to meet the specific needs of a customer.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
Design: Create or solution unique electrical designs for the Chiller to meet the customer request. Some mechanical design would be a plus.Codes and Compliance: Update ETL files and ensure design meets the requirements needed for UL compliance. Knowledge of ETL and UL 60335-2-40 preferred. Ability to read and interpret codes required.Project Schedule Management: Develop and manage project schedules for customer requests in high-tech vertical growth markets. Ability to track tasks and determine critical path to keep the team on track.Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability of special parts, processes, and designs for unique projects.Customer Collaboration: Work closely with DTO team and customer service teams to ensure customer needs and unique requests are met and that engineering can meet the agreed time and cost targets.Documentation: Update and create unique technical documents to accompany chillers at the time of shipment.Production Support: Actively participate in initial DTO builds as needed.Mentorship: Mentor and help grow less experienced team members of DTO team or other support functioning teams.Travel: 10% domestic overnight travel is required.What you will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline and at least 7-years of work experience in product design or project management is required.
Compensation: Pay Range: $85,000 - $145,000 annually
