Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Engineer (Civil - Wet Utilities) to join our team! In this role you will provide professional support to the program projects with emphasis on promoting and maintaining the technical adequacy, uniformity, and quality of the project designs in conformance with approved standards and codes. Candidates background must be in Infrastructure civil wet utilities for Water Supply, Irrigation Water Supply, Sewage and Storm Water design review and checks.

Reports directly to the TSS Discipline Supervisor and provides technical and general guidance to the technical Support Section. With Interaction with other Engineering Department Sections is involved for collaborative work

What You'll Be Doing:

Review A/E consultant and EPC contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals; and coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines.

Provide technical advice to other sections and departments within the Royal Commission including participation in meetings and workshops required.

Prepare proposals for design work including scope of work, design concepts, sketches and costs estimates for labor, equipment, and materials.

Prepare and update technical specifications, guidelines, and standard drawings in coordination with other.

Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences.

Actively participate in value engineering and constructability workshops.

Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFl's. Review vendor and shop drawings and construction materials. Assist in resolving clashes and conflicts between services,

Perform field inspections and provide professional field support and construction trouble shooting as necessary during construction phases.

Preparation and presentation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies.

Function as a technical expert in performing analyses in specialized areas. Reviews and provides guidance in problem areas, recommends solutions, alternatives, and improvements.

Review construction contractor field erection plans, shop drawings and material data sheets.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

A Degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years postgraduate professional experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in design of large scale industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects.

Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC Codes) regulations will be considered an advantage.

Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association equivalent to US PE or UK Chartered Engineer status is essential.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management including the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

Demonstrable experience in the application of North American and international codes and standards

Preference will be given to candidates with experience of BIM processes and procedures in accordance with ISO 19650 or the US National BIM Standards.

Experience in Utilities network modelling/design with focus on water pressurized networks (potable, reclaimed, irrigation). Experience in reviewing design work at different stages from Conceptual to Construction Issue.

Experience in sanitary sewers and ancillaries with focus on design and review, including Pumping Stations.

Experience with drainage strategies/studies of large-scale areas is advantageous with focus on open channel hydraulic structures (channels, culverts etc) and the application of SuDS approach.

Experience with sewage treatment plants is considered advantageous, with focus on hydraulic design.

Competent in the application of hydraulic modeling software including preparing and analyzing model data. Demonstrable experience in the use of industry standard hydraulic modeling applications including WaterCAD, SewerCAD and StormCAD.
