Senior Engineer- BIM
Eaton Corporation
**What you’ll do:**
Eaton is scaling a unified BIM capability to enable faster, more accurate front‑end design and customer collaboration across ETO/CTO and stock product lines. As Senior Engineer-BIM Expert, you will own the day‑to‑day leadership of a BIM squad, raise the bar on modeling standards and automation, and ensure delivery of fit‑for‑purpose models and data to internal teams and external AEC partners. You will help institutionalize the Eaton BIM spec, report‑card, and a standardized BIM library, and contribute updates through the BIM Council.
"1) Team Leadership & Delivery : Lead and coach a team of BIM professionals; plan capacity, assign work, remove impediments. Own deliverable quality, timeliness, and scope for assigned projects—manage risk, change, and stakeholder expectations.Run stand‑ups, model reviews, and coordination meetings; publish progress dashboards and action trackers.
2) BIM Standards, Governance & QA : Implement and enforce Eaton BIM standards and BEPs; champion ISO 19650 principles, LOD definitions (100–500), IFC/COBie data requirements, model naming, and versioning. Conduct periodic BIM audits and clash detection; drive corrective action to maintain accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Maintain the BIM “report card” and continuous‑improvement backlog for methods, templates, and content libraries.
3) Modeling, Coordination & Data Integration : Oversee creation, federation, and coordination of discipline models (primarily Revit); ensure constructability, maintainability, and downstream manufacturability.Coordinate multi‑discipline inputs (mechanical/electrical/architectural) and vendor content; manage model aggregation and issue resolution.Ensure interoperability across Revit–Inventor–Project Center and other internal platforms; define data hand‑off contracts and MVDs
4) Automation & Plugins (Efficiency at Scale) : Partner with platform engineers to test, adopt, and champion plugins/automation (e.g., Revit add‑ins, Dynamo) to reduce modeling cycle time and errors.Contribute to plugin backlog triage, UAT, and rollout; submit improvement requests and metrics on productivity uplift.
5) Stakeholder Communication & Change Management : Serve as the primary point of contact for BIM deliverables with AEC partners, internal engineering, product lines, and applications teams.Present status and insights to leadership; provide BIM Council updates; support training and “brown‑bag” sessions to uplift capability across product lines.
6) Safety, Compliance & IP Stewardship : Adhere to Eaton safety, cybersecurity, and data‑handling requirements; ensure licensed content usage, attribution, and IP hygiene.Align with customer/regional mandates on BIM and digital deliverables."
