Senior Engineer
**Description** **Position Title: Senior Engineer** **Compensation Range: $109,000 - $134,000 Based on Experience** **Department: Global Product Management** **Location: Naperville, IL** **About AGI** AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. Drawing on a strong mechanical engineering foundation and hands‑on expertise in CAD modeling and C# software, you will lead projects end‑to‑end—from scoping and concept through detailed design, validation, release, and sustainment. You will drive clarity, remove roadblocks, and motivate and upskill teammates through leadership by influence (no direct reports initially). You’ll use Azure DevOps & Jira to manage backlogs, sprints, code, and pipelines, champion Agile ways of working, and scale design automation to push speed and quality—two feet on the gas. **Responsibilities:** + Form and lead cross‑functional mini‑teams based on project needs and skill fit; set objectives, scope, milestones, and quality gates. + Own schedule, risk, and delivery; drive rapid decisions and escalate early to protect timelines. + Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives; ensure transparent status and crisp communication. + Lead creation of parametric CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks / Inventor), assemblies, and drawings for permanent handling products and subsystems. + Apply DFM/DFA, GD&T, design standards, and lessons learned; guide BOM structure and configuration control. + Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to optimize cost, reliability, and throughput; support prototypes, pilot builds, and qualification. + Design and deliver C#/.NET tools, add‑ins, and scripts to automate design/configuration, drawing creation, calculations, and data flows. + Integrate CAD/PDM/PLM and analytics where appropriate; establish coding standards, code reviews, and unit testing for engineering tools. + Use Azure DevOps & Jira Boards/Repos/Pipelines to manage requirements, versions, and CI/CD for engineering tools and automation. + Define Definition of Ready/Done, maintain clean backlogs, and measure flow (cycle time, throughput, predictability). + Plan and oversee verification & validation (analysis, FEA oversight, test plans, acceptance criteria); document results and corrective actions. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related). Master’s preferred. + 7+ years in mechanical product development and CAD‑driven design for fabricated metal systems, machinery, or material handling. + 3+ years leading cross‑functional engineering projects in a matrix (no direct reports required). + Demonstrated delivery of design automation or engineering tools in C#/.NET. + Experience with Azure DevOps & JIRA (Boards/Repos/Pipelines) and Agile practices. + Expert proficiency in parametric CAD (SolidWorks and/or Inventor), assemblies, drawings, and BOM management; familiarity with PDM/PLM. + Strong C# development for engineering tools (APIs, add‑ins, services, scripts); basic test automation and code quality practices. + Solid grasp of DFM/DFA, GD&T, materials, welded/formed sheet metal, machined parts, and value engineering. + Experience in conveyors, grain systems, or permanent handling equipment. + Exposure to data/analytics for engineering (e.g., Power BI) and CAD/PLM integrations. **Why AGI?** We’re leading the way in global food supply chain solutions and here’s how: We’re the leading global expert in providing farmers, processors and commercial customers with the right equipment and customized engineering solutions to produce, protect and deliver the world’s grain, fertilizer, seed, feed and food supplies. Dedicated to safety, innovation and customization, AGI offers one of the largest catalogs of equipment and full-service planning and engineering services for the storage, blending, mixing, conveying, conditioning, and processing of agricultural products worldwide.
