Job Description: Technical Support Specialist (AI platform & Databricks)

Overview

We are seeking an engineer to provide exceptional technical support during US business hours. The ideal candidate will address environment and platform-related technical issues for users working with CLIENT AI PLATFORM (Unified AI Services) and Databricks, supporting both the business team and learners. The focus will be on resolving environment errors, platform limitations, and documentation-related questions.


Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot environment issues and platform-related technical problems on CLIENT AI PLATFORM and Databricks.Guide users in understanding and navigating CLIENT AI PLATFORM and Databricks environments, including platform limitations.Assist learners and business colleagues in accessing, utilizing, and troubleshooting labs, notebooks, and capstone environments.Escalate complex coding or capstone issues to dedicated development teams as needed.Help users understand and interact with platform documentation, including CLIENT AI PLATFORM features, libraries, and CSV writing capabilities.Provide responsive technical support via email and chat to users during US business hours.


Skills & Qualifications

Strong expertise in Python—must be comfortable reading, understanding, and explaining notebook code, labs, and capstone projects.Experience with Databricks (DBX) platform and a good grasp of its current capabilities and limitations.Ability to quickly learn and master new features and limitations of Client AI Platform, making practical use of provided documentation.Familiarity with environment setup errors related to Python libraries, CSV handling, and general workflow issues.Clear, effective communication skills to explain technical solutions to non-expert users.Proven ability to rapidly learn new tools, platforms, and documentation.Proactive, organized, and a team player who can work closely with business and learner support teams.


Preferred

Previous experience in technical support—especially supporting data science, machine learning, or academic environments.

Quick learner, solution-oriented, and skilled at putting users at ease.Comfortable working independently and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Interested in the intersection of education, AI platforms, and technical troubleshooting.

Pay:

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $140,000 - $160,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus for the current performance period.

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time.  You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company.  In addition, you are eligible to participate in the Company 401(k) Plan after 30 days of employment, in accordance with the applicable plan terms.   The Company provides for 11 paid holidays and 12 weeks of Parental Leave. We also follow a “free time” PTO policy, allowing you the flexibility to take time needed for either sick time or vacation.
