The Senior Engineer – Retube Installation Tooling is responsible for leading engineering activities related to Retube Installation Tooling, with a particular focus on Calandria Tube Installation tooling. This role provides technical leadership, oversees project deliverables, and ensures engineering excellence in accordance with schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
Your roleLeadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of engineers in the development, review, and delivery of tooling designs.Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level staff; support capability growth and performance improvement.Plan, coordinate, and manage personal and team workload, aligning with broader project plans and priorities.When required, lead multidisciplinary teams in executing assigned project scope.Engineering & Technical Execution:
Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, including making adaptations or modifications as appropriate.Oversee and contribute to the design and development of Retube tooling systems and equipment, including modifications, troubleshooting, testing, material evaluation, and process studies.Prepare or review engineering specifications, technical reports, cost estimates, and test documentation.Review vendor documentation and support resolution of manufacturing, testing, and installation challenges.Ensure that all work meets technical accuracy requirements and comply with applicable engineering and quality assurance procedures.Project Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement:
Participate in meetings with vendors, clients, and stakeholders to provide expert technical input and support.Interface directly with clients to ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements and customer expectations.Support the preparation and review of commercial proposals and internal project submissions.Ensure timely completion and maintenance of all training, qualification, and compliance records relevant to project execution.Quality, Schedule & Performance:
Plan and execute work in alignment with quality, cost, and project schedule requirements.Provide oversight to ensure deliverables from reporting staff meet project standards and organizational procedures.Demonstrate sound engineering judgment and decision-making, with completed work generally accepted as technically correct and feasible.About youBachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical) with 8-10 years of practical experience.Professional Engineer designation from PEO.Demonstrated experience in the design, testing, and execution of Retube Installation Tooling, particularly Calandria Tube Installation tooling, is a strong asset.Proven ability to lead engineering teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary technical activities.Organizational and time management skills.
