What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health

Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.

Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the direction, general health, performance, technical transformation, and ongoing maintenance of the ServiceNow platform. This includes platform maintenance/upgrades and overseeing the design and implementation of all enhancements and project-related transformational changes to the platform.Partners with the product owner and platform manager overseeing the work performed by internal ServiceNow Developers, citizen developers, and 3rd-party System Integrators.Coaches and mentors less experienced members of the teamPassionate about ServiceNow, leading complex initiatives, and driving towards becoming the engine room of ITActs as a subject matter expert (SME) on the ServiceNow PlatformCollaborates with the team on Sprint planning, refinement, code review and executions. Leads platform implementation projects, providing updates on project progress, and proactively communicating issues that may impact project success.Leads in the stability, availability, and security of platform components and related applicationsUses platform functionality to develop enhancements, workflows, reports, and dashboardsPartakes in full lifecycle, planning, and administration of components of an application platform, related integrations, and applications running on the platformResponsible for managing Orchestration MID servers for the ServiceNow platformDesigns new ServiceNow applications, integrations using various methods and data feedsCollaborates with internal and external partners to ensure solutions provide the best user experienceWorks with partners to design and implement integration/data feeds/interfaces with other systems, such as APIs and AuthenticationParticipates in platform communities and stay up to date on new software technologies and best practicesPromotes ServiceNow and CMDB best practices and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate

Qualifications

8–12 years of relevant industry experience, preferredMinimum of 5+ years experience with ServiceNow Platform Administration, preferredMinimum of 5+ years working on a team as part of a large IT organization, preferredMinimum of 2 years experience with Configuration Management, ITIL v3 certification a plusBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, preferredITIL v4 Foundation certification, preferredExperience implementing systems using Agile methodologyServiceNow Certified System Administrator, Certified Application Developer or Certified Implementation Specialist is a plusExperience with GCP or Azure cloud infrastructure or Infrastructure-as-Code is a plus.ServiceNow Certifications and or Google Cloud Platform certification preferred.10+ years of hands-on experience in developing enterprise software and solutions, preferredExperience with ServiceNow instance upgrades and patches along with strategy and executionExperience with developing flows, migrating workflows to flow, scoped applications and managing cross scope accessExperience Developing ServiceNow applications using AES and GitHub preferredExperience with leading citizen developers and developing agent workspace, preferredExperience with integration components such as SSO, LDAP, preferredExperience with web technologies such as AJAX, XML, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services (SOAP, REST), preferredExperience with databases and data-driven web applications, preferredExperience in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including client requirement analysis and system design, and/or software engineering principles, preferredUnderstanding of Incident Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, and Release Management as it relates to ITILExperience with Run book automation and data integration, preferredExperience with a scripting language, such as PowerShell or Python, preferredExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills

Anticipated salary range: $121,600 – 173,700
