Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers interested in ocean engineering. Our Portsmouth, RI team primarily supports programs in the naval undersea and naval surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform underwater acoustics analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to the customer. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and ensure our products work the first time and every time. Every day presents a different set of challenges to overcome. You'll be expected to collaborate across disciplines and partner to implement solutions while working autonomously with limited oversight. In this role, you'll get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together, supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts. This position requires technical expertise and the ability to make decisions independently to drive the success of complex projects. **What You Will Do** + Perform system performance evaluations and in-depth analysis to identify opportunities for new functionality and system enhancements. + Develop and execute Monte Carlo test runs to assess system performance under varied conditions. + Work across disciplines to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex challenges. + Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders. + Perform integration, verification, and validation testing/reporting to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements. + Travel, both domestic and international, to support customer events, with an expected travel requirement not exceeding 25%. **What You Will Learn** After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) activities across the product development lifecycle. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. + Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or other programing languages. + Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools. + Experience with system software, system hardware, system requirements and/or test. **Qualifications We Prefer** + Experience using Monte Carlo simulations to model system performance, analyze outcomes, and enhance testing strategies. + Experience with identifying root causes of system failures through detailed diagnostics, implementing timely fixes to restore functionality, and develop preventative measures to avoid recurrence. + Experience presenting technical findings, analyses, and solutions to leadership and customers. + Experience in developing testing procedures, reports, and troubleshooting complex systems + Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or field environment. **What We Offer** + Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
