Fuel your passion

A Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering – Embedded Software plays a critical role in advancing the development, reliability, and performance of our embedded product portfolio. This position combines deep technical expertise with hands‑on product engineering, supporting both new product introduction and ongoing product lifecycle needs. By driving high‑quality embedded software design, modernizing tooling, and strengthening system‑level integration, the engineer ensures our products meet rigorous technical standards and operate seamlessly in complex distributed environments. Through close collaboration with senior and principal engineers, this role enhances product robustness, accelerates development efficiency, and contributes to continuous improvement across the engineering organization.

As a Senior Engineer, Product Design and Engineering – Embedded Software, you will be responsible for:

Developing embedded software for microcontrollers using languages such as C++, Python, and Java, with a focus on full product development rather than automation work.

Serving as a technical expert in embedded systems, applying deep domain knowledge to guide complex engineering decisions without taking on a leadership or management role.

Collaborating closely with senior and principal engineers to maintain existing products and contribute to ongoing engineering initiatives.

Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) by designing, implementing, and refining embedded software for new hardware platforms and product lines.

Driving end‑to‑end product development, ensuring seamless integration between software and hardware while meeting performance, reliability, and quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will:

Apply your experience in developing Python‑based support tools to modernise legacy systems and enable new services or features.

Use your understanding of object‑oriented design and Java SE development to contribute to robust software solutions.

Work confidently with cross‑platform C/C++ development for Windows and real‑time Linux, ensuring code quality and effective debugging using tools such as LINT or LDRA.

Operate effectively within distributed systems, working with communication protocols including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, CAN, Ethernet UDP and TCP, and supporting component integration.

Demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, breaking down complex issues and identifying the root cause within multi‑layered systems.
