How you will make an impact:
Lead design and development of solutions for new and complex packaging systems throughout all stages of product development from concept to launch, including clinical trials, global and limited market releases, as well as key operations initiatives.Lead new packaging technology or process development projects; including design, development and validation of novel packaging systems.Develop protocols for, and implement, package design, packaging process validation, and package shelf life testing; may approve and/or review protocols of lower level engineersProvide technical recommendations and establish project plans by utilizing own input as well as input from working closely with cross-functional team members and outside suppliers of materials and servicesOversee packaging support tasks (e.g., scheduling and processing lab work); give instruction to, train and provide feedback to technicians/engineers; coordinate technicians/engineers work; may oversee or supervise lower level technicians/engineersOther incidental dutiesWhat you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Scientific field with minimum of 6 years experience Master's Degree in Engineering or Scientific field with minimum of 4 years experienceWhat else we look for (Preferred):
Proven expertise in usage of MS Office Suite and related statistical knowledge for packaging; CAD experience preferredExcellent technical documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectivesGood understanding of statistical techniquesPrevious experience working with lab/industrial equipment requiredExtensive technical understanding and knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to EngineeringExcellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skillsExtensive understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned workExperience in facilitating change, including collaboration with management and stakeholdersAbility to develop and execute protocols for package design, packaging processes validation and package shelf life testing, validate packaging equipment and packaging manufacturing processesStrong leadership skills and ability to influence changeKnowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturingStrict attention to detailAbility to interact professionally with all organizational levelsAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environmentMust be able to work in a team environment, including frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contactsAbility to represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projectsAdhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
