We are seeking a highly motivated engineering professional to join our Collins Aerospace team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. In this role, you will provide technical support for Electro-Mechanical Systems, with a primary focus on troubleshooting, yield improvement, investigations, and resolving technical turnback’s. You will work in a dynamic manufacturing environment supporting both Electronics and Electro-Mechanical aerospace products, with a key emphasis on the Fans cell under Nord Micro’s design authority. This is a Direct Charge position within the Puerto Rico Engineering organization, collaborating closely with our Nord Micro business partners in Germany to drive operational excellence and product performance. **What You Will Do** + Designs and modifies small cell or simple assembly lines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. + Designs the sequence of larger and more complex operations and installations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other processes, including disassembly/assembly and repairs, to ensure efficiency and optimize performance. + Designs and implements complex manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control to ensure compliance and effective production. + Monitors and ensures mandatory modifications, programs, and bulletins are incorporated or complied with, as required by the customer and the applicable regulatory requirements, to ensure legal compliance and adherence to quality standards. + Identifies opportunities or implements changes, on a need basis, to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts to optimize productivity and ensure optimal use of resources. + Audits manufacturability of existing products, and recommends modifications or adaptations to address quality, customer, product, or productivity constraints. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience + Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written) + U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract **Qualifications We Prefer** + Demonstrated experience troubleshooting process machinery and complex test systems, with measurable contributions to improving reliability or reducing downtime. + Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain machine maintenance protocols that extend equipment life and improve production efficiency. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, document, and communicate technical issues clearly for effective resolution. + Proficiency in technical writing, including authoring reports, procedures, and technical documentation for cross-functional use. + Hands-on experience applying root cause analysis methodologies and designing mistake-proof solutions that drive measurable quality improvements. + Prior experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Test Engineering with demonstrated impact on process optimization or yield improvement. + Familiarity with LabVIEW software, with the ability to design, execute, or maintain automated test solutions. + Strong organizational skills with a track record of planning and prioritizing work effectively to meet deadlines. + Experience collaborating in cross-cultural, international teams, ideally between U.S. and European partners. + Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes in high-complexity environments, with exposure to aerospace or similar regulated industries. + High-level troubleshooting skills, including experience diagnosing and resolving issues in electronic circuit boards or systems. + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), or related field with strong electronic systems background. + Willingness and availability to travel internationally to support business needs and global collaboration. **What We Offer** Some of our competitive benefits package includes: + Medical, dental, and vision insurance + Three weeks of vacation for newly hired employees + Generous 401(k) plan that includes employer matching funds + Participation in the Employee Scholar Program (ESP) + Life insurance and disability coverage + Employee Assistance Plan, including up to 8 free counseling sessions + And more! **Learn More & Apply Now!** The next chapter of our future as an aerospace company is here, and we are excited about what this means for our employees and customers!
