Senior Engineer, Cyber M&A Advisor

We currently have a full-time job opening for a Senior Engineer to oversee the Cyber aspects of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and business-savvy cybersecurity professional to lead and support all cybersecurity aspects of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities. This role will be responsible for assessing cyber risks associated with potential acquisitions, estimating integration costs, and ensuring proper security controls are implemented throughout the integration lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and business operations, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

Conduct cybersecurity due diligence for all M&A targets, identifying risks and vulnerabilities.Develop and maintain a cyber risk assessment model tailored to M&A activities.Estimate cybersecurity integration costs and resource requirements for each deal.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, IT, Risk, Finance) to align cybersecurity efforts with broader M&A strategy.Track and advocate for the implementation of cybersecurity controls during post-merger integration.Continuously update and refine the cyber cost estimation model based on lessons learned.Provide executive-level reporting on cyber risks, integration progress, and cost updates.Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations throughout the M&A process.Serve as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity in M&A contexts.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in M&A or risk assessment roles preferred.Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).Experience conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.Familiarity with integration planning and execution in M&A environments.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or CISA.Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance).Prior involvement in high-value and niche M&A transactions.Experience with cybersecurity cost modeling and budgeting.
