Senior Engineer, Customer Data Operations

Are you energized by the challenge of designing and optimizing data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and developing scalable data models and platforms? Reuters Data & Analytics team is looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to deliver world-class data engineering solutions that drive business intelligence, data science, and self-service analytics.

About the Role:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will:

Design, develop, optimize, and automate data pipelines for seamless extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from multiple sources into the CDP.Lead and drive data engineering solutions to maximize performance and resource efficiency, resolve technical impediments, and tackle complex and ambiguous problems.Contribute to the DevOps and QA strategy, as well as the architectural design of data platforms, pipelines, and models.· Build and enforce automated testing and monitoring solutions to ensure data quality and reliability.Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, applying best practices for data security including encryption, access controls, and auditing.Proactively troubleshoot and resolve data-related and performance bottlenecks.Analyze and explore large datasets with curiosity and analytical rigor.Remain open to learning and adopting emerging technologies in data engineering, data science, and cloud computing.

About You :

You are a strong fit for the Senior Data Engineer role if you have:

5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics domains.Degree in data analytics, data science, computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline.Advanced proficiency in SQL.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.Experience working on Customer Data Platform (CDP) implementations is a plus.Strong data modeling skills, including knowledge of various schemas such as snowflake and star.Expertise in building ETL workflows, database design, and query optimization.Extensive experience with data pipeline and transformation tools such as dbt, Glue, FiveTran, Alteryx, or similar.Extensive experience with cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Azure.Hands-on experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster.Understanding of data privacy, compliance regulations, and industry best practices.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to technical issues.Strong communication skills, works well within a team and collaborates with colleagues across domains and geographies.
