Boeing’s Aviation Business Solutions (ABS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engagement Leader specializing in commercial aircraft Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) and/or Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO).

This dynamic and rewarding position is within the ABS Profit and Loss (P&L) business where Engagement Leaders build discrete and unique projects and services within the aviation ecosystem.  This specific position reports to the M&E Practice Principal, however the role is a semi-autonomous one where the Engagement Leader independently pursues opportunities by working directly with customers to understand their challenges and, utilizing their experience, creativity and entrepreneurial skills, develops actionable proposals to address their problems and add value to their business operations.  Being a P&L, it is critical that our Senior Engagement Leaders are credible experts in the businesses we support; the ability to listen to our customers’ problems, understand the underlying business challenges and processes, develop customized solutions that provide value to the customer, and execute on these projects is core to our mission.  This work requires effective communication at all levels of management, from the C-Suite to front-line employees. 

Sr. Engagement Leaders in the M&E Practice must possess the experience and knowledge of an airline Maintenance & Engineering executive to be able to properly communicate, understand the customer problems and issues, and develop solutions that will deliver the value the customer expects.  As every proposal is customized for the specific customer, a deep understanding of operating regulations and practices and how each operator’s unique maintenance and engineering organization and processes comply with the regulations is required.  Additionally, ABS maintains a fleet and support system agnostic stance; we provide services to operators with Boeing and/or non-Boeing equipment. 

Aviation Business Solutions

Our current team of high-caliber Engagement Leaders work collaboratively to leverage Boeing's unique Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vast span of technical knowledge and aircraft expertise, including those of our strategic suppliers, to deliver operational and technical solutions to globally diverse aviation operators (Commercial and Business Aviation), domestic and foreign governments, airports, and maintenance providers.  Our core business strategy is to assist and support our customers in developing or improving their business processes to achieve optimal performance including the business transformations and change management necessary to sustain that performance.

Examples of Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) engagements include, but are not limited to:

Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) Startup/DevelopmentAirline Maintenance Operations improvementsAirline startup, including organizational, procedural and certification supportAirline M&E Organizational setup and developmentAircraft transitions from operator to lessor, or owner to new ownerNew capability development or improvement, such as shop maintenance, powerplant workscoping, inventory management, etc.

Position Responsibilities:

The core responsibility of the Sr. Engagement Leader includes the comprehensive activities of being the direct technical interface with the customer and building trust in our capabilities, understanding their unique problems and identifying custom solutions, developing the Statements of Work, negotiating our contracts and ensuring we complete the projects in terms of quality, schedule and budget.  This is not a pure Project Manager role, it requires a deep airline business understanding and the associated experience to work directly with our customers and ensure trust in our knowledge, experience and ability to perform the agreed upon statement of work.

Prospecting

Building direct relationships with team leaders and members within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) / Boeing Global Services (BGS) Sales and MarketingProspecting effectively by building a strong network both inside and outside BoeingFacilitating customer engagement workshopsLead and direct Interviews with Customer employees, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholdersEngaging and communicating directly and effectively with the highest levels of aviation business leadership (C-Suite / Executive / Leadership, etc.)

Opportunity Development

Creating and developing business opportunities from leads with Sales and Aviation Business Solutions PrincipalsConducting research, collecting data, performing analysis and utilizing tools and frameworks to formulate the highest possible value recommendations for our customersIdentifying issues, forming hypotheses and using structured techniques to determine solutions and provide objective recommendations with a definitive implementation planUtilizing airline/MRO/Airport/etc. experience and customer interactions to identify new business opportunities and develop those opportunities into real business offerings to generate additional contracted work and revenue.Identifying, leveraging and monetizing existing capabilities within Boeing that solve customer challengesIdentifying gaps in Boeing’s capabilities pertaining to a customer’s needs, then establish and develop external partnerships to fill those gap

Proposal Development

Developing and managing large scale, potentially complex engagements with firm, fixed price statements of work.Generating Sales Letters describing specific ABS service offerings of quantifiable value to customers. This includes tailoring of services and associated pricing to meet customer needsIdentifying and driving additional opportunities during an established customer engagement (cross-sell / up-sell)

Project Execution

Ownership of the customer engagement - scope definition, internal / external team development (Boeing SMEs, Customer team members, contractors, etc.), budget and schedule (revenue, earnings and timelines) and overall project managementCommunicating directly with Government / Regulatory agency leadership as needed in support of an engagement

Other

Working with a high level of autonomy (minimal supervision) while staying within Boeing’s policies and proceduresSupporting ABS leadership on special assignmentsTravelling, both Domestically and Internationally to support projects and other business activities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's degree with minimum 15 or more years' airline M&E and/or MRO work experienceMinimum 5 years in a Senior Management or Executive leadership role at an airline, MRO or similar businessDemonstrated experience in forming and leading multifunctional teamsExcellent written and oral communication skills including business letters, reports and presentationsAbility to work virtually and effectively using computer and associated communication tools

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Minimum 1 year Technical or Management Consulting experienceFAA and EASA regulatory knowledge or experience

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary Pay Range: 127,500 – 197,800
