Senior Electronics Assembler

Compensation: $22-$28/hr Depending on Skillset and experience.

Job Description

With minimal supervision, performs skilled and non-routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies or in support of development projects, in accordance with established standards using visual aids and verbal and/or written instructions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other and uses hand or power tools to secure partsMount assembled components on chassis, panels, or circuit boardsRoute wiring and cabling through assembly to terminals according to color codes and solders or wraps wire around terminals to provide electrical connectionPerform intermediate to complex assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping, and color-coding parts and assembliesAdjust, repair, or replace electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specificationsDrill or tap holes in specified equipment locations to provide openings for elements or wiring in accordance with hardware specificationsRead and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructionsDevelop accurate and intelligible work instructionsConfer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities to resolve production problems utilizing the ECN procedureMust be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

 

Other Job Functions

Clean parts using cleaning solutions and/or air hosesMark and tag components so that stock inventory can be tracked and identifiedOther duties may be assigned

REQUIRED:   

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standardsAbility to interact effectively with peers and supervisorsAbility to interact appropriately with the public when necessaryAbility to adhere to workplace rulesAbility to read and interpret assembly drawings and component identificationsAbility to work with minute parts and demonstrate finger dexterityAbility to form and bend wires to specificationsAbility to work with stripping tools, wire cutters, soldering equipment, pace rework machine, SMT mounting and insertion tools, coax cable assembly tools, degreasers, and other tools of the trade

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

HS Diploma or equivalent preferredA minimum of 8 years of experienceSuccessful completion of IPC Solder Training and Certification within initial 2 - 6 weeks of employment with 1% or less defect rate on solder certification board.Mechanical Assembly certificationRework certificationSurface Mount Hand Installation certifiedBoard Coating certifiedExperience with cable continuity testingExperience with complex wiring of harnessesExperience with developing work instructions and process problem identification

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Production environment

Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time

Ability to perform repetitive motion (use of arm-hand

steadiness, finger dexterity, manual dexterity for small parts assembly,

frequent use)

Ability to lift  up to 30 pounds

20/20 vision and color vision with or without corrective

lenses

Work Environment

The role is based in an office setting with workbenches equipped with overhead lighting, tools, and materials for assembly.

Shift

The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, with working hours from 7-5 on most days and every other Friday off. Availability on off Fridays and weekends is possible but not mandatory at this time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT WALTON BEACH, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $21.00/hr.
