Job descriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in offshore and onshore projects. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering and design experience, particularly in the electrical systems associated with gas processing facilities.
Responsibilities Steam turbine generator package and related engineering design experience is mandatory Electrical control and monitoring system engineering design experience is mandatory Develop electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, electrical equipment layouts, cable schedules, and specifications, in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards Conduct electrical load and short-circuit analyses, voltage drop calculations, and protective device coordination studies to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and designers, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to best practices Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress against key milestones Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and obtain necessary approvals Experience in brownfield jobs such as preparation of modification scope of work Experience to perform all associated electrical calculations such as equipment sizing (switchgears, transformers, generators), cable sizing, subsea cable sizing, UPS sizing, lighting and earthing calculations Participate in safety reviews, including electrical hazard assessments and arc flash studies, to identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with decommissioning activities Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate alternative electrical system designs and recommend optimal solutions Support procurement activities by reviewing vendor proposals, participating in technical evaluations, and ensuring compliance with project specifications Foster a culture of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, ensuring that all electrical engineering activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred Minimum of 14 years of experience in electrical engineering roles, with a focus on offshore, onshore oil and gas projects Proven expertise in electrical design, analysis, and optimization of offshore production facilities, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and instrumentation and control systems Proficiency in electrical engineering software tools, such as ETAP and AutoCAD Electrical, for electrical system design and analysis Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions Familiarity with industry regulations and standards governing offshore decommissioning activities, including IEC, ASME, NEC, and NEMA requirements About the CompanyWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
