We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an EPCM company to be based in Kwinana office. It will run on a 12-months casual contract. Only for candidates with full working rights in Australia.
Undertake engineering design and technical verification (as required) of discipline project deliverables by others. Perform and/or manage discipline specific engineering services such as: Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management processes. Prepare/assist or oversee the production of engineering calculations, drawings and documentation. Ensure all deliverables are checked in accordance with checking procedures. Attend site visits where required, participate in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs and safety in design workshops as required. Communicate effectively and regularly with the project stakeholders/team including the Workshare team, Lead Engineer/Designer and Project Managers, establish and maintain relationships with contractors, clients and other personnel, build relationships to grow the business and networks. Assist in scoping engineering requirements, methodologies and estimating engineering budget for proposals in response to requests for quotations from clients, identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required. Diligently contribute to the development and improvement of design systems, processes, practices, and procedures. Scoping fit for purpose solutions considering client needs. Manage sequence of engineering tasks at a high level to ensure deliver according to project schedules (including activities by third party contractors). Primary interface with customer for discipline-specific engineering issues. Ensure technical integrity of the discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities. Provide technical direction, control and supervision for engineering and design on the project. Deliver the discipline’s design deliverables within schedule and budget, maintain discipline task and deliverables lists for the project, manage quality and consistency within the discipline. Coordinate change control and technical query process within the discipline, manage work fronts assigned to resources. Liaise and work with the project engineers to deliver scope, provide updates and estimate discipline hours. Build relationship with client discipline representative and work through client reviews, checks, requests for information and any other interfacing requirements. Report progress of discipline deliverables, resolve discipline technical issues. What you’ll have: A recognised Bachelor qualification in the relevant discipline. Relevant years of technical and practical experience in the Refinery/Mining Industry or similar industry, including experience leading projects on a discipline level. Extensive experience in brownfield electrical systems modification detailed design and knowledge of instrumentation and control system interfaces (essential). Experience across all phases of engineering projects. Excellent understanding of Australian electrical standards, excellent understanding and proven experience in consideration of Safe and Sustainable Design. Hazardous Area Accreditation and/or Functional Safety TUV Certification (beneficial). Good understanding and proven experience in: Equipment sizing, cable routing, equipment layouts, lighting design, earthing design, arc flash requirements and HV switchgear and MCC design. Control system interfacing and instrumentation. Electrical calculations required for design. Protection systems and relay settings (overcurrent, earth fault, motors, VSDs). Creation of design drawings such as SLDs, schematics, terminations, schedules, layouts. Site experience such as scoping solutions, equipment inspections, construction and commissioning. Witnessing and inspection of equipment during FATs, SATs. Preparing ITPs, MTOs, datasheets, specifications, construction methodologies, philosophy documents, procurement requisitions and construction scope of works packages. Input into electrical estimates and execution schedule, understanding of shutdown planning
