Essential Role and Responsibilities:

Supports development of design requirements and electrical specifications based on customer or user requirements.Contributes to development and documentation of electrical system architectures.Creates designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller based systems, meeting performance objectives.Analyze circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.Good Knowledge of LTSpice and PspiceHas experience working with sensors, A to D conversionEnsures successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the system.Completes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.Develops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications and drawings.Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.Advises the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.Defines protocols and conducts the necessary testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of design(s).Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).Executes the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systems.Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering or related engineering field and 1-3 years related experience. Prior experience in the medical or infusion pump domain is a plus.Able to clearly and accurately present technical data, ideas and basic engineering concepts to peers and first-line management within the department.  Comfortable with developing and delivering presentations within project team environment.Knowledge in design of embedded microcontroller-based electronics devices, including FPGA-based, digital and analog design.Experience with statistical analysis and product/process qualification; experience with Minitab, Matlab or other statistics software.Knowledge and experience using eCAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred), circuit analysis tools (LTSpice and Pspice), and data acquisition software (LabVIEW).Knowledge of testing to meeting immunity & emissions requirements
