Project: BHP Project (Iron Ore, Port)
Location: Perth CBD
Duration: 12-months casual contract Key Responsibilities: Prepare HV & LV system designs and calculations in accordance with relevant Client and Australian Standards Prepare Power system studies including load flow, short circuit and harmonics Specification and technical document writing Support and collaborate with designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant elements Prepare technical engineering documents as part of the overall project engineering deliverables Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
Candidate Qualifications, Experience & Skills Australian accredited 4-year engineering degree. 5-10 years of BHP WAIO or similar industry experience in LV & HV systems up to 33kV. Experience with HV and LV switchroom systems and distribution transformers Experience on reviewing mechanical packages Familiarity with Australian Standards, studies including developing MTOs/Lists Familiar with earthing (step-touch) and lightning system design Able to work autonomously and communicate effectively with management, co-workers, clients and other stakeholders. Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems with attention to detail. Able to prepare / review load flow, short circuit and harmonic studies Experience in software design tools such as Digsilent Power Factory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, is desirable Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
