Client: Leading Global EPC Company (Oil & Gas Projects)
An international EPC firm is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Sustaining Capital team, supporting multiple brownfield and greenfield projects for major oil & gas clients including Chevron, INPEX, and Woodside. The successful candidate will be involved in design-focused work across various project life cycles, particularly from FEED to FID stages.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and review detailed electrical design deliverables across brownfield and greenfield scopes.
Support a fast-paced project environment with multi-project responsibilities.
Collaborate with internal and external engineering disciplines to produce electrical design packages including:
SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, termination diagrams, equipment layouts, and lighting/earthing designs.
Conduct and review electrical calculations: load flow, fault level, arc flash, protection coordination, motor starting, etc.
Ensure compliance with Australian standards and hazardous area classifications.
Prepare procurement and construction documentation: datasheets, specifications, MTOs, ITPs, construction scopes.
Perform inspections and witness FATs/SATs for electrical equipment.
Provide technical input into electrical estimates and project execution schedules.
Must-Have RequirementsBachelor’s Degree (4-year) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Engineering.
Minimum 10 years’ design experience in the resources, mining, or oil & gas sectors – utility project experience is beneficial.
Strong background in engineering design through all project phases, especially FEED to FID.
Recent experience on greenfield projects is essential.
Exposure to shutdown planning and construction considerations for electrical design.
Ability to work across multiple projects with strong time and stakeholder management.
Proven capabilities in:
Electrical equipment sizing, layouts, cable routing, lighting & earthing design
Protection systems, relay settings, MCC/HV switchgear design
Control system interfacing and instrumentation integration
Creation and review of design drawings and technical documents
Site scoping, inspections, and construction/commissioning support
Highly RegardedFamiliarity with SmartPlant, AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PowerFactory, and relevant Australian electrical standards
Perth-based candidates preferred due to office-based requirements
