The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role supports compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, promotes continuous improvement in EHS performance, and fosters a culture of safety throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do

Lead site Environmental, Health & Safety strategy and serve as the primary EHS subject-matter expertPartner with site leadership to prioritize initiatives and drive a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementDevelop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other regulatory requirementsLead audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; analyze trends and implement corrective actionsEvaluate EHS impact of new processes, equipment, and facility changes to ensure appropriate controls are in placeDrive environmental sustainability initiatives, including waste management and environmental monitoring programsCollaborate cross-functionally to embed EHS into daily operations and long-term planningManage EHS budgets and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost improvementMonitor performance metrics, communicate results, and influence stakeholders to deliver measurable EHS outcomes

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Minimum of 6 years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent

Preferred Skills:

Ability to interpret EHS regulatory requirements and lead programs to meet requirements and bring performance to the next level.Experience in dealing with EHS regulators e.g.   OSHA., EPA,  etc.Experience in leading cross functional project teams.Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at all levels.Extensive experience in implementing and maintaining EHS management systems.Certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
