Job Overview/Summary:


The Senior Early Childhood Development (ECD) Officer will play a key role in supporting the successful implementation of the ECD Program in Jordan. This position will be responsible for overseeing the logistical and operational aspects of the projects, ensuring effective coordination and timely delivery of activities across multiple sites. The Snr Officer will manage day-to-day operations related to training sessions, material distribution, partner support, and events, while ensuring compliance with IRC’s operational procedures and donor requirements.

In addition to logistical responsibilities, the Senior ECD Officer will provide technical support to local stakeholders, including ministries, community-based organizations (CBOs), and implementing partners. The Officer will contribute to the co-design, delivery, and monitoring of ECD activities in collaboration with government partners, ensuring alignment with national strategies and community needs. This role requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to promoting high-quality, scalable, and sustainable early childhood development service

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Support the logistical and operational implementation of ECD project activities, including procurement planning, preparation and tracking of Purchase Requests (PRs), and coordination with the supply chain, finance, and admin teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services, in close collaboration with the ECD Senior Manager.

·         Under the overall supervision of the Senior ECD Manager, organize and lead on the implementation of partners capacity building on child-facing and caregiver-facing programs.

·         Organise and coordinate delivering trainings, workshops, and meetings for CBOs, government stakeholders, and partners including venue booking, material preparation, transportation, refreshments, and attendance tracking.

·         Coordinate closely with IRC’s supply chain and program teams to ensure the smooth rollout of field activities in line with workplans and donor requirements.

·         Support in the preparation and distribution of ECD materials and resources to target locations, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.

·         Provide logistical and operational support to monitoring and evaluation efforts, including coordination of site visits and data collection activities.

·          Assist in the co-facilitation of training sessions for CBOs and government partners, supporting content delivery and capturing feedback for continuous improvement.

·          Maintain regular communication with implementing partners and stakeholders to track progress and ensure the quality and consistency of delivered services and interventions.

·          Contribute to reporting requirements by compiling activity summaries, logistics updates, and documenting lessons learned from implementation.

·         Ensure all operational activities are carried out in compliance with IRC and donor policies, including documentation, archiving, and financial tracking related to project implementation.

·         Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to support project success.

·         Other Internal: DDP, supply chain department, MEAL department

·         Other External: ECD stakeholders, Ministries, CBOs and other partners


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development, Education, Social Work, or a related field. Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in the implementation of early childhood or education-related projects, preferably in humanitarian or development settings. Demonstrated experience in supporting logistical and operational aspects of project implementation, including procurement processes and coordination with internal departments. Experience in organizing and delivering trainings, workshops, and field-based activities in coordination with local partners, CBOs, and/or government stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team and coordinate with diverse partners and stakeholders. Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is an asset.
