Senior Director- Supplier Quality

The Senior Director - Supplier Quality is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing enterprise-wide Supplier Quality assurance programs designed to ensure continuous improvement in production of products and conformance to all established standards in a high product mix environment. Drive capable, predictable, repeatable processes throughout the global supply chain. Overall responsibility for coordinating and leading Supplier Quality engineering teams across the globe to deliver parts and products that meet or exceed company quality and business objectives for capability, capacity and cost. Direct leadership of corporate inspection labs and governance of enterprise standards for equipment, methods and procedures for all inspection labs. Ensure ongoing success by developing policies, procedures and process documentation related to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction directives. Responsible for leading, coaching and developing a high performing team of quality support leaders. Establish an effective supplier management process to be used to ensure that consistent, best-in-class results are followed to enable operational excellence. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including Strategic Global Sourcing, Operations, Engineering and HR. **Major Responsibilities** + Develop multi-year Supplier Quality improvement plan for the organization to climb the value chain from Quality Control to Quality Assurance to Excellence; + Set the quality expectations of the supply chain to satisfy the requirements of our customers; + Supplier Audits: Plan and execute supplier audits to assess their quality management systems, production facilities, and adherence to industry regulations and standards. + Directly manage a global team of Supplier Quality professionals ensuring that resource needs are met to support the overall organization product development process; + Drive success of process improvement initiatives by developing policies, procedures and process documentation; + Drive down total value chain expense with the use of quality goals, performance metrics and improvement initiatives; + Establish product quality goals, metrics, and test methods during product design and development; + Champion the Generac Quality Management System across the supply chain; + Oversee development and deployment of standard Generac quality tools, methodologies, standards, practices and processes; + Direct root cause investigations addressing customer complaints and facilitates corrective actions; + Present quality metrics and analysis regularly to Senior Management team and external customers as needed; + Other duties as assigned Designs and directs the work of the functional area. Selects, coaches, and develops the team, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire and motivate the team. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved. + Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives. **Minimum Job Requirements** **Education** + Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology or related field OR 4 years of related experience; **Work Experience** + 10 years’ related experience + Minimum 7 years Management experience + Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence others, and strategic vision for the future + Strong manufacturing process background – various **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities** + Solid quantitative skill set and the ability to analyze, think and communicate with well-supported data; + Strong problem-solving skills; the ability to ask the right questions, help frame logical conclusions and arrive at effective solutions; + Strong organization and time management skills; + Strong verbal and written communication competencies. + Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies; **Preferred Job Requirements** **Education** + Master’s Degree in Quality, Engineering, Business or Industrial Technology + Certification / License + Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Certifications, or MBA a plus **Work Experience** + Strong Lean background with Six Sigma experience; + Experience working in International Companies and in matrix organizations; + Experience collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions; **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities** Strong change Agent Clear thinker Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, process auditing, Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving tools.
