Senior Director, US Obesity – Pre-Launch

ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director, US Obesity – Pre-Launch serves as a senior commercial leader shaping US pre-launch commercial and marketing strategy for Pfizer’s obesity portfolio. This role guides strategic positioning, customer segmentation, launch marketing execution, and cross-functional integration ahead of commercial entry. Operates with high autonomy and strategic influence.

As assets move through late‑stage development, this role will be accountable for leading the translation of clinical data, competitive dynamics, and evolving market conditions into a coherent and differentiated US commercial strategy, including product positioning, message development, and comprehensive go‑to‑market launch frameworks. The role emphasizes senior‑level strategic leadership—connecting evidence, insights, and stakeholder needs into robust, enterprise‑aligned launch strategies.

In a highly matrixed environment, the Senior Director must demonstrate strong strategic judgement, operate with high autonomy, and lead cross‑functional integration across Marketing, Sales, Medical, Access, and Operations. This role is critical to ensuring that Pfizer’s obesity assets enter the US market with clear differentiation, strategic coherence, and executional readiness, and that key launch decisions are elevated and aligned through governance in a timely manner.



ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead development of US pre-launch marketing and brand strategy.Shape US customer segmentation and targeting across stakeholder groups.Integrate competitive intelligence, market research, and KOL insights.Lead development of foundational US brand strategic frameworks.Translate strategy into comprehensive Marketing readiness plans.Define HCP & consumer execution strategy, messaging, channels, spend.Lead go-to-market development with Sales, Medical, and Commercial Ops.Shape potential partnerships (e.g., digital health, pharmacies).Lead governance communication and ensure cross-functional alignment.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree strongly preferred.


Experience

12+ years in pharmaceutical marketing, brand strategy, or commercial roles.Demonstrated leadership shaping and executing pre-launch strategy.Deep understanding of US clinical, access, and policy dynamics.Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership.Obesity/cardiometabolic experience preferred.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
