PURPOSE
The role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end product cycle, from product development to sourcing with supply partners, in accordance with Product Development & Sourcing’s vision to be the Most Agile, Most Competitive, Most Digitalized & Cleanest supply base in the industry. Oversee the development, commercialization, product integrity, manufacturability, Create to Value (CTV), and achievement of target FOB for all products and categories within the Development Centers. Additionally, develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies in the designated country to ensure company objectives are met regarding quality, volume, delivery, and cost of sourced products, while achieving desired performance outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Creation
Lead multiple product creation teams in Development Centers for all development and commercialization, material innovation and product costing; ensuring that products consistently exceed customer expectations in respect to fit, comfort, design integrity, performance, perceived value, manufacturability and quality. Set direction for development and commercialization area with key focus on Create to Value (CTV), Product Integrity and overall Manufacturability & Efficiency for the designated Development Centers. Work with suppliers to promote capability influence Marketing, Design and Brand Operations in general product direction and execution of the designated product categories built upon product and manufacturing expertise. Take cross-country accountability for the development and engineering of centrally developed projects for other Sourcing production facilities of the parent Development Center.
Sourcing Operations
Implement sourcing strategies within assigned location to meet the company objectives relating to quality, volume, delivery, and cost of sourced products. Build and maintain business relationships at the highest level of trust and integrity. Implement Supply Performance Framework (“SPIKE”) to ensure the company secures, maintains, and supports the highest quality vendors available. Manage risks (e.g., political, economic, strategic, etc.) likely to impact business operations. Ensure implementation of company policy for all operations (Quality, Delivery, Costing, Development, Planning/Ordering/Shipping, Materials). Ensure lead times provided by suppliers are in line with the company's objectives for speed-to-market. Ensure supply partners and all operations comply with company expectations and relevant local laws (general and labour) and respect basic human rights, health, and safety of all employees and the environment. Ensure right level of collaboration and capabilities in Digital, Development, and Manufacturing in Tier 1 supply partners. Form and maintain the appropriate organizational structures for end-to-end process performance and succession. Identify and develop future talent, and ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through development of direct reports and teams. Maintain adidas’ public image at the highest possible level through professionalism, integrity, and contribution to the local community. Ensure all sourcing operations and practices fully comply with adidas’ Responsible Sourcing & Purchasing Policy, adidas standards and legal requirements, while managing the relevant processes internally and externally. Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in engineering or a technical field (e.g., materials science, chemistry, physics, etc.) or non-technical field coupled with relevant work experiences. Minimum 12+ years of relevant business experience and 5+ years of people management experience Willingness to travel frequently (including internationally)
