Since 2003, ZOOM Motorsports, LLC—a Troon company—has served as the exclusive promoter and event management team for the acclaimed Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course features over 80 feet of elevation change and ranks among North America’s premier circuits.
ZOOM manages all major events at Barber, including the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, the Alabama Boat Show, MotoAmerica Superbike, GT World Challenge, SpeedTour and Barber Vintage Festival. In total, the team oversees more than 130 days of programming each year, including public events, private track rentals, and industry press launches.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Sales will play a key role in the success of all major spectator events at Barber Motorsports Park. This position is responsible for driving revenue through the sale of hospitality and branding packages, while also cultivating and expanding existing client relationships. This full-time, salaried role reports to the President and is based in a professional office environment in Birmingham, Alabama.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grow and maintain a book of business through sales of hospitality and sponsorship packages Achieve or exceed annual sales goal through new business, as well as renewal and upsell of existing partners Provide the highest level of service through constant communication and follow through with prospects and current clients Build and establish relationships with local community organizations such as chambers of commerce and tourism boards, as well as with local community leaders and influencers Oversee a team of sales and fulfillment managers Liaison for public officials and lobbyists to secure public funding Attend various community functions for lead generation Circulate and manage administration of sales agreements Enter all sales activity and agreements into the CRM Provide Event Director weekly evaluation of progress against set annual goals; reporting may include call report, prospect list and other sales related information. Support team during event week by interacting with existing partners and hosting new business prospects Special projects or other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, sports management, business, event management, communications or related field Minimum of five to seven years of sales experience required. Prior experience in sports or entertainment is a plus. Thorough sales knowledge which includes prospecting, pre-qualifying, questioning, presentation, overcoming objections, conveying value position, listening, negotiating, and closing sales Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) Experience in Salesforce, DigiDeck, and Canva is an advantage, but not required Experience in large scale event operations Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment Self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work under pressure Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time Ability to work long and strenuous hours (40 – 80+ hour work week during events) Knowledge/interest in sports is an advantage, but not required
LOCATION:
The Senior Director, Sales position is a full-time salaried position that will report to the President and operate in an in-person professional office environment in Birmingham, Alabama.
