The Senior Director, Program Management – Transformation Office, serves as a key strategic leader responsible for orchestrating the design and execution of enterprise-wide transformation programs within the Global Quality organization. This role aligns transformation initiatives with Eli Lilly’s Quality business goals, ensuring value realization across quality, supply chain, manufacturing, digital systems, and compliance functions.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Program Leadership: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Quality transformation programs, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Translate strategy into executable program plans with clear outcomes and success metrics.
Governance and Stakeholder Alignment: Develop and manage governance structures such as steering committees, dashboards, and review processes. Engage executive stakeholders to ensure alignment, visibility, and accountability for transformation outcomes.
Cross-Functional Delivery: Oversee cross-functional teams, manage interdependencies, and resolve obstacles to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of initiatives. Partner closely with senior leadership across Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, and Commercial to synchronize transformation priorities.
Portfolio and Risk Management: Own part of the Quality transformation program portfolio and related performance metrics. Identify and mitigate risks, manage scope, and adjust resources to optimize delivery effectiveness.
Change Enablement: Collaborate with Change Management to embed best practices into program delivery. Lead planning and implementation of adoption strategies, training, and readiness assessments to ensure successful organizational integration.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of lean, agile, and digital-first methods. Drive continuous improvement of program management capabilities and influence enterprise-wide transformation maturity.
Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing program team through coaching, talent planning, and development. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence in execution.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field.
10-12 years of experience in program/project management, with demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide initiatives.
Proven leadership in matrixed, cross-functional environments.
Certification in Project Management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, Certified Scrum Master, AgilePM.
Governance, stakeholder alignment, and strategic planning.
Cross-functional execution across quality, R&D, and supply chain.
Deep knowledge of Quality systems, standards, and operational practices.
Digital awareness and change management leadership.
Strong executive communications and stakeholder engagement.
Strong analytics and expertise driving value realization through strategic decision-making.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
MBA, MS in Regulatory Science, Engineering, or Public Health preferred.
Experience in regulated environments, preferably pharma or life sciences.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
Prosci or other change management certification a plus.
Experience with digital transformation or smart manufacturing environments.
Background across quality, R&D, commercial, or supply chain.
Experience using dashboards, analytics tools, and performance reporting frameworks.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$151,500 - $222,200Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
